Guest guest
I'm confused if your 3 points are about One-pointness or the Discussion of such. Perhaps more Amma quotes are in order, or better yet some quote from Swami P's tapes because they're mostly about the Practicals of Sadhana. This is my experience of One-Pointedness (OF MIND): OPM comes on it's own, after concentrated effort. Any singular focus over time can bring it about (japa, seva, etc.). Even doing lots of studying of a subject as if for an exam. Headaches during this effort are bound to occur. OPM Is not directly achieved, similar to trying to meditate and actually reaching the state of Dhyaana. But, effort must be there. OPM makes a bad singer or one with a lousy voice sound great when leading a bhajan. OPM causes the perception of time to speed up, bringing about Automatic Detachment and Simplifying one's lifestyle due to necessity. Time flies when you're having fun... (due to singular absorption) OPM when focused on a subject, reveals great information due to the laser like focus, with more subtler information revealed the longer or intense the focus. (i.e. much information is gained in a short period of time). Can bring about creative intuition or answers to problems. OPM has a sensation of being in a trance, or that your consciousness has backed up into a small box in your head (intense episodes only). OPM can cause the physical heat of tapas in your body, whether at the point of concentration or all over. Extended O.P. can ignite the Kundalini process, or re-awaken it if it has slept again. tom Ammachi, "amarnath" <anatol_zinc wrote: > > perhaps, "one-pointedness" would be a good topic for discussion? > there are so many different ways to approach this > 1) some can lead to enlightenment quickly > 2) while the other extreme can lead to dogmatic control > 3) and everything else in the middle > > amma bless, > amarnath >
