Guest guest
It's different depending on where you are spiritually "committment" speaking... In my early days, I was like many and visited every so- called holy person that came to town. When I got serious in doing a regular sadhana routine and getting focused, I found I didn't have the time going to see the various gurus. Even when I did, I wound up disappointed, knowing that missing my regular routine was a mistake and that any blessing from the holy person was nothing compared to the results of an established routine and focused effort. I'm still shocked that while some people have deep affection towards certain other guru's, they still don't see the great uniqueness in Amma's teachings, not just her darshan. And I don't mean the common teachings of love love love. tom Ammachi, "Mahamuni Das" <mahamuni wrote: > (snipped) Amma has said then when we go to other spiritual teachers, we think we are increasing towards our spiritual goal, but actually the opposite is what is true. We are actually losing some of what we have gained. Now what She means exactly regarding this, I couldn't say. Was it translated exactly? I don't know. Is it different for certain individuals? Probably, but again I couldn't say and don't know. I certainly have seen Her rip into some people about wanting to study xyz with this or that teacher, or going to spend time with them. And I mean full on Kali scolding. But these were people that asked. > (snipped)
Guest guest
Tom, I'm curious to know how you perceive her teachings to be greatly unique? And also curious to know what you mean by her teachings? What she says (e.g., satsangs or in Awaken Children)? What happens to us around her and in relationship with her? Guest guest
"Her teachings" is my postings = practical teachings, not the common philosophical or General teachings of Love, Compassion, Meditate, Do Seva, Patience, etc. When you compare Philosophical Teachings, Amma's quite similar to others. Compare the combination of Amma's books and Swami P's tapes with others and it's very different. Practice fully what Amma actually teaches sadhana speaking, and a whole new world will open up to you with your Guru's Grace, versus the popular Mother's Grace of loving compassion and comforting hugs. You'll never hear me complain or pray for spiritual blessings but always material ones, because I've always interacted in a guru- relationship with Amma, not a Motherly one like Dayamrita and the vast majority. Thus, I have received what's been practiced and lived versus what's greatly desired. This way, I win even if I lose because it's the spiritual wealth that's undecaying and unlosable. I'm the exact opposite of 100% of any spiritual people I meet. Other's go with Intuition, I go with Awareness and Discrimination of facts. Others go with their heart and mind, I go with Dharma and Reality. Not sure about what you mean by the last question, so please re-state, tom Ammachi, "ammasiswari" <ammasiswari wrote: > > Tom, I'm curious to know how you perceive her teachings to be greatly unique?
