Guest guest
<<Amma recommended studying the lives and teachings of other saints and avatars during this summer's tour.>> The way I interpret this is that it is beneficial to read about those who are no longer in the body. When I do this, and the person seems to me to be/have been an enlightened being, I feel a deeper connection with Amma and it helps me understand Her better. It is my understanding that this is different from going to see other living teachers. For the record, I was not at all coming from fear in asking for experiences with other gurus to be posted elsewhere. Rather, I was wanting to have the group stay focused on Amma according to the guidelines. Guest guest
Dear all, It seems like there are (at least!) two issues here: 1. What is the focus of the list and can we agree on some parameters for discussion? It seems to me like a lot of defensiveness is coming up, as people feel their understandings of Amma and how they relate to her are being challenged. I'm sorry to see this happening. 2. What does it mean for devotees to go to other teachers, in terms of our relationship with Amma? Personally, I do not believe there is a single definitive answer to this one. I'd say more, but I've got to run...
