Guest guest
Dear Keval, With all due respect, when I read a post like your recent one about children, I assume that it is due to the Aspergers syndrome that you mentioned having. It is my understanding that this syndrome involves impairment in social interaction. I have no idea if you are trying to be funny or if this is seriously how you feel. Either way it seems really over the top, highly inappropriate and extremely offensive. What can be done about this? Although it appears that the guidelines for this group are often not being followed, perhaps it is right for you to be the moderator. I have heard Amma say that She likes to assign sevas that bring out people's weaknesses. How can we help so things can be more manageable? What can be done about this? Yes, it was over the top..and kind of tongue in cheek.. I don't really advocate spanking.. but IMHO back in the last century - before the 1960s liberal-leftist-hippie revolution and softening of old-time family values and discipline - children were much better behaved when parents were free to spank and schools routinely doled out caning and strapping. back in my childhood days, growing up mostly before the hippie era (was only a 4th-grader when the 60s ended), i was on the receiving end of many a slap across the buttocks.. but in my folk's defense, they just parented the way my grandparents did the job.. and had no idea about aspergers.. (indeed, who did, until about 1995) if there isn't a law against persons with aspergers becoming mothers and fathers, there ought to be. Not only because it would help keep asperger's out of the gene pool, but because IMHO there is no way a person with aspergers could be an adequate parent.. it is virtually impossible to bond with a child; the intracacies of interpersonal relationships are beyond the grasp of most persons with aspergers.. it is hard enough for me to bond with Amma..though having the Amma doll does help. > > Although it appears that the guidelines for this > group are often not > being followed, perhaps it is right for you to be > the moderator. Probably true.. which is why I get to do line entry and other sevas that require much social interaction..when I would rather be behind the scenes. now, let's drop this thread, if we can't bring it back to the topic of dealing with loud or unruly kids at amma's programs. keval
