Guest guest
Om Namah Shviaya! I have seen in my local community the problems with politics create huge rifts between people and groups, sometimes subtely, sometimes wide out in the open. The problem has its origins in the attitude "Im right and the others are wrong!" This attitude is encouraged and supported by people who are paid to organize groups. As part of their job, they want to appeal to other's emotions, get thenm to join in and give money, time and resources. So, soon the "us" versus "them" becomes the lense through which the world is seen, and us versus them is not compassion, love, understanding, wisdom, patience or gentleness. Examples of us versus them ideology: "Liberals are destroying the country and hate traditional values Conservatives Bush supporters are rich, white bigots and hate minorities Men are not sensitive and disempower women regularly. Women only care about money and their looks, they are so emotionally manipulative" That is enough to get the point across. The problem is that in a moment of emotion or weakness, these half truths are appealing and polarize each of us, make us feel they we are "in the right" May Devi's subtle intellegence guide us Chris
