OM NAMAH SHIVAYA, BALA There is no question that Amma is very careful about the accuracy of Her teaching viz. translation. The purpose behind Her frequent interruption of Big Swami is to get the English as close to Her Malayalam as possible. Some newbies perhaps believe this is Abbott and Costello shtick. Bala said: "Also I guess Her teachings for the brahmacharies can be quite intense as opposed to the directives given to householders-though I think even those given to householders in the "Awaken children " series etc are intense enough!" Thank you Bala for this observation. I have heard that there is a school of thought that a Guru's (from all traditions) communicate more intensely to His/Her Direct Disciples and brhamacharinis/Brahmacharis. When a soul has given up the world and chosen to live and travel full time with a Guru, the Teacher can take more liberties with Him/Her. The Disciplining of the Guru may be more severe and individualized. If such an instruction targetted specifically toward an individual Disciple (taking into account his/her unique Vasanas and point of spiritual development) are put out for mass public consumption the "true" meaning may be distorted or diluted. When Amma answers a question for one of us on the question line would it be appropriate to put Her answer on Amrita TV? Everything Balaji has a proper time and a proper place with a proper recipient based on his/her singular need base. That is my two pesos for today.
