Sat nam-

I have not posted before, but have enjoyed the wisdom of this list for

a few months now. I have been praticing Kundalini yoga since last

November when I attended a workshop with Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa. Since

then, I have practiced almost everyday and become a devoted student of

this transformational practice.

A friend of mine is having some trouble with hair loss. She is 36. The

hair loss is exacerbated during times of stress, she thinks that it

could be related to liver or digestive issues or maybe hormonal shifts.

I have become her Kundalini liason so I told her I would do some

research for her by asking this group. Thanks in advance for any

insight or suggestions you may have.

Peace,

Lisa

Lisa,

Hair loss is, typically speaking, a Pitta issue, and yes, Pitta folk are

not unknown to have some rough Liver chi. Liver and Gall Bladder handle the

fat soluble in our system and that same Fire can run rampant, creating

discord in our thoughts, feelings, and outlook, too.

She can approach this from a number of different approaches. Whatever she

will do.

Check out the Ayurvedic at

http://www.holisticonline.com/Remedies/Hair/hair_loss_ayurveda.htm

More basics about Ayurveda at http://www.sahej.com/ayurveda_intro.html

Also on this list you have some very knowledgeable folks in the field of

Ayurveda. hopefully they will respond to you post.

I will also add another file to the "Files Area" entitled "Pitta Kriya -

Total Relaxation Kriya".

The title is self explanatory

Go to Kundaliniyoga to download it.

All the Zest,

Dharam

P.S. Sandalwood oil is also a help for pacifying Pitta.

Sat nam,

I have a recomendation for you; it´s an ayurvedic herb for hair and skin: GOTU KOLA. It´s one of the most important herbs in the ayurveda. It´s a tonic for the nervous system, that is her case, it´s the cause of the hair loss.

Sat nam,

Adi kaur

Sat Nam Lisa,

As Dharam mentioned, from an ayurvedic perspective often Pitta dosha

is involved in hair loss. None the less Vata is often also involved,

which also seems to be the case with her since it's stress related.

The hair loss is a symptom. Ayurveda and other types of holistic

healing would consider the underlying imbalance much more important.

The question in Ayurveda is not what symptoms are occurring, but WHO

is having those symptoms.

She'd need to see a practicioner, there's just to many variables

involved to get proper advice online.

Blessings,

Gurushabd
