Guest guest
What is the largest 14 mukhi Nepali bead anyone here has seen with their own eyes? I read one recent account which claimed 38mm. I was recently offered a very large beautiful bead, apx 35mm, the dealer wanted a whopping USD 1100. I didnt buy it, as the mukhi lines were not so deep and the perceived Shakthi of the bead was not ideally appealing to me, this from judging from several comparison photos. How should one estimate the proper market value of such larger 14 mukhi beads above 34mm? Thanks, Ole
Guest guest
Dear Ole, Being in same trade i have my self seen 37 and 38 mm beads of Chaudah Mukhi. But frankly speaking it is my opinion that larger beads are over priced due to market hype. In reality i have seen smaller beads to be more powerful than larger beads. This can be seen with Malas. A rosary carrying 4mm beads is more poweful than rosary of larger beads. This becomes more of a necessity when we feel uncomfortable wearing large Kanthas. I personaly wear very small beads from ek mukhi to Chaudah mukhi. I can wear them anywhere and they are very powerful as well. All this pricing phenomenon is a back throw created by human psyche of "Bigger the better". I have met people who wear extremely large beads but they just need to show them off ( though not all of them). It is true that one should follow his/her psyche in these matters. But psyche shold carry eyes as far as prices are concerned, as it happened in your case.
