Guest guest
Rudraksh beads have to be regularly oiled to maintain them and retain hardiness. No, there will not be any changes or effects of the bead due to thin protrusions snapping off. This sometimes occurs with all beads at any given time. Only when the whole bead actually cracks, then its another matter. Like when malas break off, they've served their purpose in deflecting whatever malevolent influences that could have happened. Hence, this is a blessing instead. By the same token, when a few thin protrusions snap off, they serve a similar purpose. There is nothing to worry about. Remember to give your beads a good oiling.
