Shaligram/Water

I too have some of those pouches of water from company called

Gangotri Minerals that is said to be packaged at 8500 ft.

 

What I have RECCOMENDS on the pouch that it be used for drinking.

 

I purchased it at local Indo Grocery store and man there actually

asked me what I was using the water for as it was sold at the puja

section

in store..I told him for puja and he said, "Good, that's alright

then." Implying not to drink it.

 

Also bought a bottle from Vedanta Society called "Ganga Water with

1008 Tirthas in One".

 

It says on bottle "This holy water is so potent that by touching,

drinking or bathing in it all reactions of sinful activities are

destroyed." However in Vedanta Society catalog ..it clearly

states "For external use OnlY"

 

That is why I asked as I was aware of the scriptual references to the

benefits of drinking the prasadam that has bathed the shilaji..

 

It is interesting to note, but I know about adding regular water to

the Ganga water for puja. I had some in a container that I had yet to

use to bathe Shaligram and found that it had matter floating in it

that looked to me as bacteria, however the water/tulsi mixture that

HAS bathed shaligram looks perfect...

 

Interesting considerations and perspectives..
