Guest guest
PLEASE SHARE AND ENJOY OUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS ACHIEVEMENTS FROM THE ATTACHED FILE. ** Open Mind ** The mind is like a parachute - it works best when it is open. How quickly we make assumptions, jump to conclusions and close our mind. How easily we form and hold fast to our opinions and then close our mind. How fast do we make a judgment, slap on a label and then close our mind. A closed mind never knows the delight of playing with possibilities, being enlightened by others point of view or enjoying the diversity of human life. An open and understanding mind never assumes, doesn't jump to conclusions and won't hold fast to any opinion. Perhaps it is no wonder a closed mind is not a very relaxed mind. Mark Payne <good_knight65 > wrote: Even though I am caucasian, I delight and celebrate the magnificent achievements of the Indian people, just as I do for any culture. One of the many things I have learned from the enlightened ones who have once been at this same spot on the path where I now stand, is the following: Life is to be one great "pot-luck supper". Please indulge me with the following analogy: when you go to a pot-luck supper, you bring your own dish made from a recipe that you now possess that many others may not. You bring your dish to the gathering and set it upon the banquet table with pride in your accomplishment. You joyfully and eagerly display it for all to see, saying, "Take some and taste of that which I have brought. I gladly share it with you." At the same time, you pick up a plate and taste of the dishes others have brought--a sample of this, a spoonful of something else--and fill your plate with their offerings. Then you sit down and delight in the wonderful tastes your tongue now experiences. No one goes to a pot-luck supper and sets their own dish before their chair. No one guards their dish from the others, at the same time shunning the other offerings. That is the joy of the celebration...the experience and the fellowship. Behold, your dish is your culture, heritage, accomplishments, values, experiences, resources. etc.--all of the wonderful things that make you who you are. Celebrate and joyfully share each dish, yet with reverence and zeal, partake of the offerings of the others around you. Soon the facade of race and other physical traits will fall away, and you shall see only your brother or sister, who is merely an extension of yourself. I am greatly indebted to the Indians for the dish I have sampled and experienced, and I invite you whole-heartedly to take and taste of the dish I have brought. Take, eat, smile, laugh, talk, and enjoy. Your place at the table of life is held for you. My wave of love sent to you all.........Mark Christine Nightingale <nightiangel92 (AT) hotmail (DOT) com> wrote: Excellent response! I totally agree with you! He says something like all the cultures of the world have some good points, so theres nothing to be proud of in India. This is like saying everyone has parents so there is nothing special about mine.Even though all parents love their children, that doesnt mean you start loving other people parents too. India is our Mother, and she is special to us. I dont care what specialities other cultures may have, I am proud of my own. We shouldnt hate other cultures, but neither should we degenerate our own just for some bullshit Political Correctness. Lalu ji
Guest guest
True Laluji. But I think the reason for this "Bullshit political correctness" as you call it is the shocking ignorance of most Indians about their own culture. They happily read about the progress Westerners have made, but never bother to find out what advances our own culture have made. This gives them a sort of "Pseudo-Equality" view- they mistakenly believe all cultures are equal. I think we can counter this bat like blindness by spreading the Truth to as many people as we can. Guest guest
You are both right Laluji and Shanracerji. I think India has far too many RNI(Resident Non Indians)- people who live in India, but are not really proud of her, more impressed with foreign cultures.
