This year we have a variety of events taking place at our Temple to celebrate Lord Krishna’s birthday in a grand manner: Deity Darshan Timings: 5.30 am to 6 am Open 6.00 am to 12 noon Closed (As the Deities will be getting dressed in Their new outfits and have Their breakfast and lunch) Arati and Program Schedule: 5.30 am Mangala Arati 6.00 am Tulasi Puja 6.30 am Japa 8.30 am Srila Prabhupada’s Guru Puja 9.00 am Srimad Bhagavatam lecture 12 noon Bhoga Arati 7.00 pm Sandhya Arati 7.30 pm Radha-Krishna Deities go out for procession around the Temple 8.00 pm Abhishek, Kirtans & Lecture 10.30 pm Maha Kalash Abhishek 11.30 pm Kirtans 12 midnight Maha Arati Jhulan Festival (7 pm to 10.30 pm): We will be having a separate tent outside the Temple room where you can serve the Deities of Sri Sri Radha-Krishna Who would be seated in a Jhulan (Swing) by swinging Them, fanning Them, singing for Them or making other offerings! Govardhan Parikrama (7 pm to 10.30 pm): We will also be having another separate tent outside the Temple room where you can circumambulate a replica of the famous Govardhan Hill (which Lord Krishna lifted on His little finger when he was just seven years old) made with sweets! In addition to learning about this pastime and deriving the benefit of doing a Govardhan Parikrama, you’ll also receive those wonderful sweets as Prasad. Cake contest (7 pm to 8.30 pm): You can win wonderful prizes by making the best home-made cake for Lord Krishna on His birthday! For contest details, please contact Vibha Sharma at (425) 313 0421. Prasad (8 pm – 1 am) We will be serving a multi-course Prasad (spiritual food offered first to the Lord) continuously from 8 pm onwards and go past midnight up to 1 am. Fresh fruit juices will also be served at this time. In addition, we’ll be serving Shrikhand throughout the day. All of these would be served free of cost to everyone. Cultural Entertainment (8 pm to 10.30 pm) As you are relishing the delicious Prasad of Lord Krishna, you’ll be entertained by the children of the Sunday School, the youth and the youth-at-heart who are all eagerly awaiting to perform their traditional music and dance in an Open Air Theater that will be constructed at the beautiful grass lawns behind the Temple. Kids booth (8.30 pm to 10.30 pm) Our friendly Sunday school teachers will be engaging your kids in learning Lord Krishna’s pastimes through puzzles and coloring games. Children can also receive free face-painting (gopi-dots).
