One should first give some basic information / background about oneself. Only then one can expect a good counseling. One may give following information:

1) Source of Time Of Birth (TOB).

2) Margin of error possible in TOB given.

3) Brief details of your appearance, nature, health, education, profession, finances etc.

4) If married, give similar information about your spouse.

5) Profession, finance, health and anything special about your parents.

6) Basic trends (including good / bad periods) of your life so far.

 

One can give some or all of it but never miss extremities of life. It is of no use to just ask to predict.
