Working Joe's and Josephines or those in the comforting confines of the Divine Mothers home base? Working Joe in Podunk, USA get in his Ford SUV (gas guzzler) and drives to a workplace that looks and has the soul confining enviro of a prison. While passing factories in the USA has anyone noticed how many are windowless? Many of us have to enter these windowless concrete edifices facing a uniformed security guard demanding ID. Where I work we have a metal detector. I am not allowed to leave my premises at work until a designated thirty minute Lunch break, Do San Quentin inmates get time like this in the exercise yard?. With Amma's Ashram confinement the result is not parole but PERMANENT FREEDOM. Namah Shivaya, GeorgeSon

Guest guest
Good point chitanand. My 2cents is: The whole world is an insane asylum and we are all inmates bound by our egos. Only by allowing our egos to be dissolved by Amma, can we be set free. Then, as Swamiji Ramakrishnananda says in "The Blessed Life" : (from memory) "In Self-Realization everything is Bliss." Concerning some other posts, there is a need for some caution how Amma's teachings are presented to the world more and more. The world is full of FUNdamentalists who really have a perverse idea of FUN. So, caution is advisable. One scenario about Judas is that he did not really want to betray Jesus; he simply wanted to put Jesus on the spot, so to speak, so that Jesus would demonstrate his spiritual power and be acknowledged by his judges. Well, Jesus did demonstrate his spiritual power, but not how Judas expected. We should all use some caution how we use Amma's teachings and how we use Amma. My prayer is that our intentions (to bless others) should come from the purity and silence of the heart and not the head/ego. Guest guest
Dear Amarnath: Thank you for the mind expanding points. Last night I was listening to one of Swami Paramatmananda's 1990 era cassettes back when he was Chief Monk in Residence at M.A. Center. Swami P said (I paraphrase) There is one incident in Amma's life that resonates to him personally as the most beautiful example of Amma's unconditional love. When Amma had an attempted murder the very next day She visited the assailant (himself seriously injured) and nursed him and comforted him rigourously. Swami P commented most of us cannot even fathom in our minds even going into the same room with one who tries to murder us. My one rupees comment: Jesus and Amma share the virtue of divine forgiveness to the nth degree. Jai Ma. Hari Amma. Blessed be Her Children. Guest guest
Thanks for that story, ecjensen. I pulled Miracle of Love out of a box of books the other day, and have been thinking a LOT about Maharajji (NKB) lately. Maybe its the Hanuman-energy of "love serve remember" that's been so appealing. All the Amma quotes that have been drawing my eye lately include "I have no special place to dwell, I dwell in each one of your hearts," which brings to mind the image of Hanuman's shrine in his heart to Sitaram. much love, prashanti
