Guest guest
Hi Tom, I agree with you completely! My husband, my son and I try to do a daily homa to 1,000 names of Lalita when possible. It is a wonderful way to serve the earth, and all our fellow bothers and sisters during the dark times we are living in. It is such a powerful practice, and we have noticed so many amazing things happening around us since we have been doing this practice. There are so many birds and wild life that have come close to our home, hanging out for no apparent reason. Cats come by and sit on the porch, Flowers grow in amazing variety, and never seem to need watering, in spite of the heat, and we have very few problems with insects, in spite of living in an area where there are lots! Many people who visit our home comment on the deep peace, healing energy and spiritual presence they feel here. It is said that the very atmosphere above the area where homas are practiced is deeply purified and energized by the Homa Fire. Homa fires have the capacity to transmute negative energy on every level. The reason I mention these benefits is because the power of these practices is immense, and if three people are doing these practices together on a regular basis and experiencing such beautiful benefits, how much more powerful would it be for the world if many people are coming together to do such things as a group; generating waves of shakti that blanket the world in grace. Amma has said over and over again that the world continues to exist only due to the sincere tears of God's devotees. If our devotion is what keeps this world spinning, then think about the great things we can achieve through the power of these group practices! In our little home, we are experiencing such tremendous grace by doing these practices together as a family...how much more then can we achieve as a large group of people, pouring out our devotion together as a group, offering it to the sacred fire, and sending that shakti out into the world! Let us not wait for others to tell us what to do and how to do it! Amma has given us Her Grace, and in our hearts, we know what She is asking us to do. The pronunciation of the chanting is not that difficult, really. With Her Grace, all things are possible. This is a way for us to give back to Her some measure of what She is always showering on us. It is an opportunity to support the healing of Mother Earth, and to offer the gifts of peace and happiness to all beings everywhere. I challenge every one of us to open the doors of our homes, apartments, yards, hearts, and invite others to come and celebrate all we have been given by holding group chantings of Lalita Shasranama, and other powerful prayers and homas. The world is in such need of this, and it is the most powerful way in which we can support Amma in Her work in this world, as well as a way in which we can demonstrate our gratitude to Her. My husband and I will be offering an all day group homa and puja in the early fall, and we invite all of you who are interested in participating to come and join us. I will let you know when the details are firmed up. We have ample space if some of you would like to spend the night as well. Jai Ma! (benefits of chanting the LS) With all the increase in World strife since just before the full moon in July (mid-east crisis, heat wave, sudden spike in crime locally in DC, etc.) I'm surpised the great swamiji has not encouraged large or increased chanting of the LS and of the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram. If not that, maybe some fasting and prayers, tapas, or a few extra bhajan sessions at the very least??? If the LS or MAM stotram is too Hindu or difficult, then at least arrange group chanting of Lax Archana/chanting of one mantra. I've posted a short video clip of this being done among Sai Baba devotees, blessing the rice before they feed it to the poor. It reminds me of Amma's suggestion of offering rice during archana and then cooking for devotees as prasad (not like anyone really does this). It would be a nice group event and sacrfice to offer. Anyways, the video clip I've posted is a snippet from an old Sai video, the original segment was tiny bit longer and explained what I just did above. Checking the download, the original played fine on Windows Media Player, but clicking on it seems not to work, which may be a problem with my computer, but copying and pasting the url into Real Player made it come out fine. archanashort2.mpg is the file name tom
Guest guest
Sanatani, I love that you are doing that. Have you seen Karunamayi Ma? She does homas all the time. I have taken a cue from her and will begin performing daily abhishekam to a Sphatika Meru Sri Chakra for universal peace in this kali yuga. It is my intention to invite anyone who is interested to join me in this very special and powerful prayer. Our beloved Amma has asked us many times in recent years to increase our spiritual practices in an effort to call forth peace and light in the world. We all have at least five minutes in the day that we can spend chanting the Lokah mantra, or Mritunjaya, or just lighting a lamp or candle with a prayer. love, Prajna sanatani urban <sanatani (AT) verizon (DOT) net> wrote: Hi Tom, I agree with you completely! Guest guest
Hi Sanatani, " The pronunciation of the chanting is not that difficult, really." I taught myself how to pronounce the Sri Lalita by using the pronunciation chart. It took me awhile, but managed to do it. Amma is not going to care if we pronounce it perfectly or not, but all that matters is our heart. I am deaf and wear hearing aids. If I can do this, then all of you can! Just curious. Jai Amma! Stacy http://360./stacysgarage
