Chanting this hymn is most beneficial also, for eliminating the ill effects of Kali Yuga. There is no barrier of country, caste, or religion in this regard." (benefits of chanting the LS) With all the increase in World strife since just before the full moon in July (mid-east crisis, heat wave, sudden spike in crime locally in DC, etc.) I'm surpised the great swamiji has not encouraged large or increased chanting of the LS and of the Mahishasura Mardini Stotram. If not that, maybe some fasting and prayers, tapas, or a few extra bhajan sessions at the very least??? If the LS or MAM stotram is too Hindu or difficult, then at least arrange group chanting of Lax Archana/chanting of one mantra. I've posted a short video clip of this being done among Sai Baba devotees, blessing the rice before they feed it to the poor. It reminds me of Amma's suggestion of offering rice during archana and then cooking for devotees as prasad (not like anyone really does this). It would be a nice group event and sacrfice to offer. Anyways, the video clip I've posted is a snippet from an old Sai video, the original segment was tiny bit longer and explained what I just did above. Checking the download, the original played fine on Windows Media Player, but clicking on it seems not to work, which may be a problem with my computer, but copying and pasting the url into Real Player made it come out fine. archanashort2.mpg is the file name tom
Guest guest
Tom, you are absolutely right. We all could be doing more to raise the positive vibrations on this earth with our prayers and practices.
