Thank you kindly for your response.

I am only beginning a study of Ayurveda here in the U.S. I

plan to go to India in the future for studies when I am

able to do so.

Father had never been to a hospital all his life until age

67. There is no family history of colon cancer. Only family

history is stroke and diabetes (types I maternal, and type

II paternal) His young wife pressured him to have a

colonoscopy due to repeated advertisements on American

television, his age and stomach complaints. It is my

understanding that when he went for the colonoscopy last

year he was told that he had a small polyp that the doctor

wanted to remove by laparoscopy. However, when they went in

to do this laporoscopic removal of the polyp near the

duedonum (sp?) there was some complication in which they

had to surgically go in through the abdominal wall and

remove 40% of the colon. Within a week of return home from

the hospital he completely stopped eating and elimination

for a few days (no care was given to him by his wife at

all) and was returned to the emergency room by family

members. At that time doctor said some scar tissue had

formed in the colon and had to be removed. Father (who is

himself animal doctor) never saw any photo of the polyp

upon request and was not diagnosed with any cancer ever. I

feel as if a grave violence was done to him and he is now

suffering daily with diaherrea that he is daily taking

immodium to suppress. I have spoken to my father about

Ayurveda and he trusts that I can find something natural to

help him with this problem so that he does not succumb to

side effects from long term use of immodium as well a the

pressures of his wife to go back to another (Western)

doctor/surgeon unless necessary. This problem is further

complicated by a wife who has severe psychological problems

related to "doctor" dependence and drug abuse. Assisting

father in this matter is to the whole family. I have done

energy work (Reiki) with her which seems to have been of

benefit and recommended hiring a cook.

Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated,

Very truly,

Aishwarya

Dear Aishwarya

There are numerous simple recipes illustrated in Ayurveda to correct

many disorders. Here are few gruel recipes which are strongly

recommended in digestive disorders. These are simple and effective

remedies which can be prepared easily at home to correct the

digestive disorder and also to replenish the lost nutrients. I think

these recepies will help your father.

You can follow this link
