Some people seem to think that Ayurvedic science is something you can read a book about and apply to yourself. Ayurvedic medical practice is a noble science that takes in depth study and years of experience to master. All of the theraputic concepts in Ayurveda have been developed over centuries and have been tested and refined in millions of patients. Ayurvedic concept like Basti is not just a matter of adding oil and herbs to water and injecting it - this is enema - similar to Naturapathic practice - but this is not Ayurveda. Ayurvedic therapies are best left to those trained in their scientific use. If one would like to do more universal types of colon cleansing then Yogic science has techniques that are used in particular ways for everyone - including enema.
