Madras Palace http://www.madraspalace.com/ are co-owned by a family of Amma devotees.. no suprise Amma would eat there or that they donated some of the Keralan food sold in the snack shop.. another good Indian restaurant (with an ad in the Toronto Amma program guide) is the Host http://www.welcometohost.com/ they have several locations in the Toronto area, including one in the mostly-Chinese shopping mall adjacent to the Sheraton Parkway. > I found Toronto as a city a bit boring like I said.. it's just another rust-belt US city, virtually indistinguishable from, say, Cleveland or Pittsburgh, that 1800-foot phallic symbol in the center of town notwithstanding. Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya! It is quite possible Amma ate in a restaurant. Amma can do anything but that will be for the good of others which will be known only later. Amma once told a story about a Guru who repeatedly went to jail doing a crime. That Guru went to the prison because there were some students in the jail who were keen to get his advice and heal. When the student is ready, the teacher has to appear! The reason why a Mahatma does something is not the same as why we do the same deed. Guest guest
More than likely, Amma visited the restaurant and sampled a biteful of food preprepared by them.... Guest guest
namasivaya chris, this would be my first guess too; just like when a harmonium is brought to Her for a Blessing, Amma will play a few keys; funny in both cases, chris and mahadevan, i had similar thoughts before your posts; but was too lazy to post then again with amma, you never know; in the early days, when amma hardly ate or did not eat for periods of time, Nealu kept insisting amma eat something; and finally She did( eat and eat and eat ) until Nealu got exhausted getting and preparing the food; he never insisted again amma bless, amarnath PS ~ Nealu is now Swami Paramatmananda Ammachi, "ckeniley2003" <ckeniley2003 wrote: > > More than likely, Amma visited the restaurant and sampled a biteful > of food preprepared by them.... > > > > Ammachi, "mahadevanv" <mahadevanv@> wrote: > > > > Om Namah Shivaya! > > > > It is quite possible Amma ate in a restaurant. Guest guest
The nights I enjoy cooking dinner the most are when I imagine that Amma might be coming through the door and joining us. Would she enjoy this lemon rice? Am I being conservative enough in how I peel the cucumbers for the raita? Will she think I spiced the curry correctly? Does she like this kind of vegetable or is is it "too American?" Oh Amma, come and dine... "Come and dine the Master calleth come and dine. There is plenty at God's table all the time. He who fed the multitudes, turned the waters into wine, to the hungry calleth now, Come and dine."
Guest guest
Me too. I like to imagine Amma eating a big healthy meal befitting the Queen of the Universe. I hope she went to that restaurant and broke her usual ways by feasting on ghee roasts, shahi paneer, dahl, banana raita, payasam, hot chai..... Sometimes I also remember Annapurna Devi, whose belly becomes full when her devotees are fed. I eat until I'm about to burst, imagining Amma's belly becoming full and satisfied while she's out there in the world hugging away. love, Prajna Prashanti <ammasprashanti > wrote: The nights I enjoy cooking dinner the most are when I imagine that Amma might be coming through the door and joining us.
