Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya: Dear Rick: Thank you for asking Amma the first question at the Marlborough, MA '06 Retreat Question and Answer session. Iswari provided us with an excellent transcription via her notes. Occasionally I have an urge to take notes during Amma or Swami question and answer sessions. I checked my notes and found Iswari's notes were about 98 percent similar to mine. However my notes indicate a few slight ommissions in Iswari's notes. Since you were blessed to ask the question I assume you will want to retrain every crumb from her divine teaching. I have put my notes in BRACKETS and in CAPITOLS as inserts into Iswari's previously posted account. Hope this assists. BTW you asked an excellent question, Rickji. ... Rick: (TO AMMA) What is it like to be Amma? What does She see, through Her eyes? What does She feel through Her hands? NOTHER: There is no state where Amma dwells. She is beyond all names and forms. {AMMA IS NOT DIFFERENT THAN US}. Amma is us. (SHE IS YOU) Amma is within us. The sun is only one, even though it may reflect differently in different pots of water. There is only one Atman, within all. [THERE ARE MILLIONS OF BEINGS BUT ONLY ONE ATMAN. YOU CAN ALSO REALIZE THIS} A porter [CARRIES LUGGAGE ON HIS HEAD} and a scientist [EXAMINES SCIENTIFIC MYSTERIES} both use the same head. {SOMEONE ASKS US WHAT IS IS YOUR NAME. WE SAY MY NAME IS SO AND SO} In our present state, identification with the body, we relate to ourselves as name/form/identity. Like ants, our world is tiny. [WE TOO HAVE A TINY SPACE} In reality, we are an infinite ocean of bliss. We are not a drop of water, but the ocean, itself. When Amma looks at us, {SO WHEN I SEE YOU} she {I}}just sees God. As a sculptor sees an image to carve in a rock, so Amma sees the divinity within us. {I SEE A BEAUTIFUL OUTCOME} The honey bee sees only honey, not the flower. Amma sees the tree that will grow from the seed. you are That. You are God.{YOU HAVE TO KNOW YOU ARE GOD}, beautiful God. Realize that all is God, {SEE EVERYTHING AS GOD} but for this, we must go beyond experience (where there is experiencer, experienced, experience). We must go beyond experience, where there is no duality. {EXPERIENCE AND EXPERIENCING MEAN TWO}There is no two, only One. {SO GO BEYOND TWO} When we realize that we are not the body, but consciousness, we will cast off the body, like a snake casts off its old skin. Like we can stuff many yards of soft thread into a small matchbox, {LIKEWISE} in our small body is infinite consciousness {THE INFINITE DWELLS NOTE I FOUND NO PHRASE INFINITE CONSCIOUSNESS}. {YOU ARE THE INFINITE AND} You are the I in me and I am the you in you. People say "I am Christian/Buddhist/Hindu/Jew/Muslim." None is different. "I" is common {THE COMMON FACTOR} "I" is the pure self in all of us. Don't try to find out who Amma is. Try to find out who you are!
Guest guest
Thanks. They played it several times on Amrita TV a couple of days ago, but I didn¹t see it and no one I know taped it. on 7/31/06 3:34 PM, GeorgeSon at leokomor wrote: > > > > > Om Namah Shivaya: > > Dear Rick: > > Thank you for asking Amma the first question at the > Marlborough, MA '06 Retreat Question and Answer > session. > > Iswari provided us with an excellent transcription via > her notes.
