Guest guest
We have a new letter recipient at Circle of Love Inside. She was born and raised in Hawaii and she is of Samoan ancestry. She wants very much to be in contact with someone also of Samoan ancestry in order to learn more about her culture. She is currently held in prison in Kentucky and has been in prison for many years. She is very active physically and knows various traditional Samoan and Hawaiian dances. Do we have any members here from Hawaii or members of Samoan ancestry living anywhere? I would love to help this young woman make the cultural connection she seeks in our group. Please reply to circle.of.love.inside if you are of Samoan ancestry and would consider writing to this young woman. I can give you the details off group and you can decide if this is the right seva for you. Two other people have volunteered to write letters to this young woman but she specifically requested someone of Samoan ancestry. thus I do not need letters for her in general, just very specifically that cultural connection. This may seem like an odd request but, in another case, I wrote to a young woman who said she wanted to learn Choctaw language. At the time I was studying it and so I tried to share what I was learning with her. She develooped an interest in Amma and has enjoyed several books about her. This past spring she expressed the desire to have Amma visit the prison where she is incarcerated. Jai Ma! Aikya
