Guest guest
All gems except Cat's Eye and Hessonite are ruled by the "normal" planetary lords, which are pretty traditional in their affairs regarding the lagna of humans. Now, I am not so sure about the Hessonite. I recall that the Hessonite is not owned by Rahu, it acts as a "cure" to disrupts it's negative rays (which can destroy the harmony of all outward going energies and create obstacles). If it's so, then I suppose a Hessonite could be used to weaken the malefic effects of Rahu even if it is not well placed in the individuals astrological chart. I do not believe in the Pratikul methodic for the use of gems by personal experience of blue sapphire on Leo lagna. But Neelam is owned by Shani, so I believe it could possibly be a different matter. Does any one have any experience or knowledge on this?
Guest guest
Dear Sriman, The gem hessonite is named Gomeda in Sanskrit, and also Rahu-ratna. It, along with orange zircon, and other orange garnets, is ruled by Rahu. In my opinion, and according to the philosophy of Anukulvad ONLY a person with a favorable Rahu should wear Gomeda. Gems strengthen planets, for better or worse, depending on chart position of every person. If a person has a bad Rahu and wants to use Gomeda, then the correct system is to donate the Gomeda to a leper on Saturday evening. Guest guest
Just wanted to confirm what Richard stated about Hessonite and Rahu... Never forget that Rahu is a first rate malefic and even when well disposed in a chart has a propensity for mischief. Even if Rahu was well placed in a person's chart, I would think very carefully before prescribing Hessonite, and then usually only for an emergency. During the period of wearing Hessonite one should work very closely with a planetary gem adviser to make sure that transiting Rahu was not afflicting any sensitive points in the Rasi. The gem should not be worn during those times. Charities and yagyas are best for the Nodes in my opinion.
