Namah Shivaya all,

Continued here are some notes which mainly come from Swamiji's second

class in Toronto..

At Her feet,

Nirmala.

Swami related a story of how one year the ashram was to receive a

huge crowd for Mother's birthday. Just five days before the scheduled

event, Mother allocated a swampy piece of land next to the ashram

premises to accommodate the extra thousands of people. Incredulous,

Swamiji approached her asking "How will this be possible?". She

coolly replied "It's none of your business. Go chant your mantra!"

And of course, five days later the work was done.

"Om Maha Sri Rajnye Namaha" (L.S. #2) Great Queen of the Universe

We have been using the mind incorrectly for numerous lives. The habit

is very strong. (Joke including himself about people not being able

to diet).

"Vasanas" : Literal translation from Sanskrit is "fragrance". We

understand them as "accumulated tendencies". Positive thoughts were

likened to visiting a perfume factory, negative thoughts to a

charcoal factory.

Our expectations are borne out of ignorance and blindness.

Surrender and be alert.

The biggest obstacles to learning from our mistakes are our

attachments.

The guru is a magnifying glass. In their presence, all our tendencies

are magnified; even small mistakes seem huge.

Amma is a celestial flower, infinitely pervasive, expansive and multi-

dimensional.
