Hi all,

For anyone who is interested are some notes I took at one of Swami's

9am talks in Toronto. He seems to get funnier each time I see him, or

maybe I'm developing a better sense of humour being around Amma!

Enjoy.

At Her feet,

Nirmala.

Swamiji's satsang,

Toronto 7/25/06

Amma cannot speak without speaking of love. Love is like a Ganapati

(Ganesh) bhajan and arati. It is the beginning, the middle and the

end.

What is beyond the universe? LOVE.

Amma speaks so much about love because that is what we do not have.

Yet the nature of us for a long time is as beggars. We don't need to

beg for love, because we ARE love.

In the world, what we call "love" is only attachment. It is on the

surface. We mistake attachment for love and miss the real love.

Worldly love is more like a contract. Break it, and love disappears.

Detachment is real love. It is our true nature. Detachment and love

are not separate. They are one and the same.

Spirituality is becoming what we already are. We live in a state as

through we have lost God.

The joy of having something comes from the length of time wanting it.

Our "happiness" comes from the expectation of having it.

Fear can exist only where there is ego.

Non attachment is the secret to happiness.

Amma has turned the whole world into a stage. It all becomes a leela-

"Play".

Krishna is an example of "detached attachment". By leaving the gopis

he liberated them. "Tough love".

Then Swami made a joke about people wearing badges- how it changes

the nature of the person. "May *I* Help You?" or "this is *my* seva!"

Then he gently made fun and talked about "Kundalini accidents" which

only occur due to wrong concepts.

Amma is like nature: unpredictable. Two things can be predicted:

1. Everything She does is for our highest good.

2. She will give darshan!

Amma doesn't struggle. She flows. She accepts life-all the flowers,

all the thorns. "The flowers and the thorns are the same to Me". She

accepts life unconditionally. Thorns keep us alert. They are an

inextricable part of the rose. They have the same roots.

"Don't be weakened by the sorrows of life. They have a lesson to

teach us."

All beauty in the world is for worshipping the Creator.
