Hello everyone,

Greetings.

Tanvir speaking here, the founder and owner of this forum. Sounds arrogant but this small introduction is here to many of the new members who do not know me well because I have not been posting for a real long time.

I have just now banned Mr Prashant Kumar G B for I have received a lot of complaints about him lately. About his arrogance, abuses through mean words and stuff. Whenever someone complained I have asked for the no. of messages and read them to see if he has really done what people have been really complaining.

I honestly admit that I have not gone through all those emails of those threads concerned because I am very busy lately. I have opened a real estate business and lots of others things are going on too in my personal life.

It may happen that Mr Kumar has done so being a victim of situation and he is not that guilty that I am thinking him to be. If it happens then please reply me here or email me personally I will consider and may be remove the ban.

Thanks for being part of JR

Dear Tanvir,

Speaking as probably the most battered member here --

Prashant Kumar from what I gathered through his emails has

significant physical challenges, particularly eye-sight. He has

earlier misunderstood my posts and his postings can be difficult to

follow at times but he has posted helpfully to many members and has

always come forth with good astrological logic and is helpful with

his book recommendations. His postings about Shri Raman and ICAS give

members a glimpse into history of jyotish as it evolved in modern

India and for that reason alone, I have always respected him and

admired his posts.

Kumarji, as I address him is fighting physical battles, I am sure and

doing admirably despite his handicap of vision. He has initially

misunderstood me often. When he mentioned that I responded, "I don't

care" to his pleas and explanations about his failing sight, I did

not mean "I do not care!" but merely that I do not take that as a

negative factor in our communication!

Lately, his attitude has changed quite a bit towards me and he even

did not object to my recent poetry -- something he was not

comfortable with earlier because he (and many others too in direct or

polished veiled messages) felt that the astrological content was

deficient or missing.

I have written extensively and openly and in the spirit of sharing

for decades now. I do not feel guilty if I do not respond to casual

enquiries and people who have agendas and who try to bully one into a

corner and force to explain! And then transmit to the "clients" or

other sites. We have seen that happen and reported often on this site

and I fully understand the reluctance of accomplished jyotishis to be

guarded about this open sharing! But I digress!

There have been personal attacks, innuendos and callous statements

flung at me by emotionally unstable and otherwise capable

individuals. No action has been taken and now we have this bomb

dropped on us!

I think you have made a wrong call, Sir, in this instance.

Just a suggestion and request - whenever you are on any public forum like this one, one should open minded and accept the readings with an open mind.

Tanvirji,

I do not think so that Shri Prashant Kumar should be banned. It will

only be just if the ban is removed immediately.

And with due regards, I would request that whosever has complained

should standup publicly in this forum and say so. And I would also

suggest that in banning Shri Kumar without giving him a chance to put

up his side is against the principles of natural justice.Thisis not

done.

In my opinion, there is no reason why Shri Prashant Kumar should be

banned , I have been scanning through lotsof postings in this forum.

I hope immediate remedial action is taken at the earliest.

regards

Dear Tanvir

I strongly feel that the action taken by you in unwarranted. He is often challenged by the people, who are propogating their ayanamsa / fan mails; where as he is helping selflessly to the members (he is one of the most participating member). I do not think, he carries any vendatta against anyone.

I request you to kindly reconsider your decision.

This notion is more clearly understood by asking "What do I know?."

dear tanvirji

it is good to get your introduction as new members who are making

active contributions are not fortunate enough to see your great

contributions which you used to do earlier.

there were incidents in the past, when you received complaints

against a specific member, you put him under moderation instead of

directly banning the member. it would be unkind on your part to ban

the member directly without putting him on moderation to check the

mails for the truthfulness of the complaints yourself. banning

merely based on complaints is not appreciated.

in the past many members were involved in exchange of mails with

differences of opinions and disagreements on views. but you showed

exemplary maturity by allowing them to continue and today you have

seen all of them working like best friends. when mr. bhaskar

maheswari wrote some personal comments against me and ranjanji, in

our first reaction we felt bad, but since he is a newcomer and has

good knowledge in him, we not only welcomed him with open arms but

also loved him to such an extent that today he is doing great

contributions to the group. any member if treated with love, will

not afford to lose the group where he is getting love.

anyway please consider the following facts before removing the ban

on him:

1. mr. g.b.prashanta kumar ji is a qualified astrologer from ICAS

and has sound knowledge in the shastras.

2. mr. kumar has answered several hundreds of queries (close to one

thousand) in this group

3. mr. kumar has also provided data of various charts to

substantiate his readings.

4. mr. kumar has been furnishing the yoga details or reasoning of

his predictions whenever demanded by the members, for he is adept in

astrology.

5. mr. kumar has also been sharing knoweldge on various dimensions

of astrology along with references and resources.

6. mr. kumar is an albino patient and had vision as well as skin

problem due to which he often does typing mistakes and get his eyes

strained easily. his contributions despite his physical challenges

must be appreciated positively.

7. mr. kumar is not one of those astrologers who dont give any astro

reasoning. there are a couple of astrolgoers in whose readings you

dont find even one word related to astrology or planets. they are

contributing in this group as well as in VA and this shows your open

arms and broadmindedness.

8. mr. kumar might have sounded arrogantly (or abusive in the

perception of those who complained against him) in a minority of

messages which constitute less than 1% of his total contributions.

hence these may be seen as aberrations in isolation.

if a member has been doing a great service and if he falters in one

or two messages, you may give him a warning of removal or put him in

moderation instead of direct removal.

i have already requested mr. kumar like i do to all other memebers

to stick to the following:

1. contribute messages without any personal comments.

2. do not indulge in criticism and only do addition of knowledge or

supplementing more information.

3. kindly post messages with a positive bias.

in view of the above, i request you to kindly remove the ban on mr.

kumar and let the thousands of members benefited from his knoweldge.

with best wishes and blessings

dear tanvirji

to make things understood in a simple easy manner, here i give an

allegory.

there lives a great king tanvir who took the first step in setting

up a jyotish ashram for serving free remedies to the suffering

querents and also share the knowledge of jyotish to the discerning

students and has provided his ashram as a ground for many sevadars.

this great ashram which is number two in terms of membership has 99%

members in the form of querents at the receiving end and only less

than 1% of the members at the giving end i.e. sevadars. everyone

knows how this great ashram set up by king tanvir is thriving ONLY

because of the contributions of these sevadars. one day king tanvir

visits the ashram and announces that he has removed one sevadaar.

hope you understand the service of a sevadaar and let him continue

his service.

with best wishes and blessings

LOL,sevadar!!I think i felt slighted too with kumarji when i just

entered my birth details and expected predictions without any

information from me.But he said,if you go to a doctore and say

diagonise me,what do you think will happen!!I kind of liked that

wicked humor in kumar.I am sorry he has been banned, maybe he has

behaved withsome rudely, though such childish behaviour can always be

rectified,in my opinion.Tanvirji, warn people and still if they dont

change, then ban them,is my humble opinion, especially for a novice like me.

Hello all,

I am happy to receive a lot of positive feedback about Mr Kumar, so I am going to remove the ban. As I said, I am not in the forum so cannot justify the situation fully. So I requested your feedback and comments. And so, as most of you think to fit, I am removing the ban.

However it has also to be noted the languages he used like "stray dogs", "cross breeds", "jokers", "bullshit" cannot be accepted. I would not accept this even if he remedies 1,000 people. One person doing good to 1,000 people does not buy, or acquire in any other way to hurt just 1 person. Nor it gives him any right to talk this way. I beleive, do good or not, do not do bad.

I also have received A LOT of personal complaints about him that he was insulting Tamil people few days back. I did not take any action then.

Contrary to what one of you suggested, this cannot be discussed fully in public because I am away and can be reached only through private emails. Also, if such administrative things are discussed straightly in the list, there will be a great chaos and the main purpose will be disturbed.

To Arjun Ji about your allegory : I think there are some important mistakes. There lives no king Tanvir anywhere. I have got this this ID when I found "Tanvir" not available at , it was a result of a quick, funny thought to add something to get the ID available. It was in 1999 when I never imagined that this ID would be used publicly for anything important. Rather, just to mail friends etc. And the forum was opened much later in 2003. Still, you have affection for old things. That is why I never left this old ID.

And this King Tanvir is held responsible for the unwanted things if any, and when he receives so many complaints he must do something. As I said, I would not think that one gets the right to hurt one person if he benefits other thousands.

Anyway everyone, thanks for your feedback, that helped me to take the decision. That is the purpose I frankly asked for your feedback.

Regards

Tanvir

PS. Shall I receive any further complaints against Mr Kumar about offensive languages and insults, I would have to take actions against him.

What cannot happen, can never happen.

Which is mine, is forever mine.

dear sureshji

you are a great observer to find two superlative traits attributed

by you to kumarji viz. "wicked humour" and "childish behaviour". is

your judgement based on his giving an allegory of a doctor unable to

diagnoise without the patient telling anything. anyway, i

appreciate your magnanimous heart in requesting tanvirji for

relaxing the punitive removal to be preceded by a warning first.

dear tanvirji

you have shown exemplary maturity, as always, in removing the ban

and my personal appreciation of the same.

as you rightly observed, the slang words you referred shall not be

used by any member of a public group and all members shall maintain

sabha maryada.

anyway, this is a learning experience to all members that 100 good

deeds would go in vain if one does one bad deed. so it is better

that a member read and re-read what he is writing in a public group

before hitting the send button. i practice this preaching and

helped me greatly in writing messages with a positive bias.

Dear Tanvir ji

I am glad for your open minded decision of restoring Shri Kumar's membership.

BTW, under the same mails referred, did you question unwarranted (and continued) promtion of specific ayanamsa - without providing any supporting results; and such campaign was backed by fan mails. Sir, sometimes such intention, in those mails are worse than words used by Shri kumar.

regards / Prafulla Gang

This notion is more clearly understood by asking "What do I know?."

directly banning the member. it would be unkind on your part to ban

the member directly without putting him on moderation to check the

mails for the truthfulness of the complaints yourself. banning

merely based on complaints is not appreciated.

in the past many members were involved in exchange of mails with

differences of opinions and disagreements on views. but you showed

exemplary maturity by allowing them to continue and today you have

seen all of them working like best friends. when mr. bhaskar

maheswari wrote some personal comments against me and ranjanji, in

our first reaction we felt bad, but since he is a newcomer and has

good knowledge in him, we not only welcomed him with open arms but

also loved him to such an extent that today he is doing great

contributions to the group. any member if treated with love, will

not afford to lose the group where he is getting love.

anyway please consider the following facts before removing the ban

on him:

1. mr. g.b.prashanta kumar ji is a qualified astrologer from ICAS

and has sound knowledge in the shastras.

2. mr. kumar has answered several hundreds of queries (close to one

thousand) in this group

3. mr. kumar has also provided data of various charts to

substantiate his readings.

4. mr. kumar has been furnishing the yoga details or reasoning of

his predictions whenever demanded by the members, for he is adept in

astrology.

5. mr. kumar has also been sharing knoweldge on various dimensions

of astrology along with references and resources.

6. mr. kumar is an albino patient and had vision as well as skin

problem due to which he often does typing mistakes and get his eyes

strained easily. his contributions despite his physical challenges

must be appreciated positively.

7. mr. kumar is not one of those astrologers who dont give any astro

reasoning. there are a couple of astrolgoers in whose readings you

dont find even one word related to astrology or planets. they are

contributing in this group as well as in VA and this shows your open

arms and broadmindedness.

8. mr. kumar might have sounded arrogantly (or abusive in the

perception of those who complained against him) in a minority of

messages which constitute less than 1% of his total contributions.

hence these may be seen as aberrations in isolation.

if a member has been doing a great service and if he falters in one

moderation instead of direct removal.

i have already requested mr. kumar like i do to all other memebers

to stick to the following:

1. contribute messages without any personal comments.

2. do not indulge in criticism and only do addition of knowledge or

supplementing more information.

3. kindly post messages with a positive bias.

in view of the above, i request you to kindly remove the ban on mr.

Dear Tanvir ji

Please unblock Shri kumar's access to forum. I am confirmed by him (just now) that, it is not done as yet.

Real painful event. On the entire forum (say 5000+), only 5/6 members are contributing..most of "posters" are all free chart reading request posters. I am sure, none of active participants enjoyed the event. It could have been handled through warning first, followed by moderated postings and then ban. Mature society must work more democratically. and the people, who provoked Mr Kumar's actions (as he was targetted personally) - must also be warned for such misconduct.

regards / Prafulla Gang

This notion is more clearly understood by asking "What do I know?."

ll HARE RAM ll

Dear Mr.Prashant,

Please do not be disheart and do serve the needy as much as you can and as you do truly. You are younger to me so i want to say something to you.Plz remerber the following chaupaie of Ramcharitmanas.As-

"HAANI LAABH JEEVAN MARAN YASH APYASH VIDHI HAATH".

But plz remember there are two main meanings of said chaupaie.

[1]It quite true that God [VIDHI-VIDHATA] knows well about all the aforesid happenings because these are decided according to our past karma.

[2]And the second meaning of Vidhi is, that how do we perform our duty /

Karma at present. If our Vidhi[method/art of performing]will be wrong,

undoubtedly we will have to face such adverse circumstances. So my dear friend plz do serve the needy havings keep in mind above noted learnings of Ramcharitmanas.God bless you.

With all good wishes

it is good to get your introduction as new members who are making

active contributions are not fortunate enough to see your great

contributions which you used to do earlier.

there were incidents in the past, when you received complaints

against a specific member, you put him under moderation instead of

directly banning the member. it would be unkind on your part to ban

the member directly without putting him on moderation to check the

mails for the truthfulness of the complaints yourself. banning

merely based on complaints is not appreciated.

in the past many members were involved in exchange of mails with

differences of opinions and disagreements on views. but you showed

exemplary maturity by allowing them to continue and today you have

seen all of them working like best friends. when mr. bhaskar

maheswari wrote some personal comments against me and ranjanji, in

our first reaction we felt bad, but since he is a newcomer and has

good knowledge in him, we not only welcomed him with open arms but

also loved him to such an extent that today he is doing great

contributions to the group. any member if treated with love, will

not afford to lose the group where he is getting love.

anyway please consider the following facts before removing the ban

on him:

1. mr. g.b.prashanta kumar ji is a qualified astrologer from ICAS

and has sound knowledge in the shastras.

2. mr. kumar has answered several hundreds of queries (close to one

thousand) in this group

3. mr. kumar has also provided data of various charts to

substantiate his readings.

4. mr. kumar has been furnishing the yoga details or reasoning of

his predictions whenever demanded by the members, for he is adept in

astrology.

5. mr. kumar has also been sharing knoweldge on various dimensions

of astrology along with references and resources.

6. mr. kumar is an albino patient and had vision as well as skin

problem due to which he often does typing mistakes and get his eyes

strained easily. his contributions despite his physical challenges

must be appreciated positively.

7. mr. kumar is not one of those astrologers who dont give any astro

reasoning. there are a couple of astrolgoers in whose readings you

dont find even one word related to astrology or planets. they are

contributing in this group as well as in VA and this shows your open

arms and broadmindedness.

8. mr. kumar might have sounded arrogantly (or abusive in the

perception of those who complained against him) in a minority of

messages which constitute less than 1% of his total contributions.

hence these may be seen as aberrations in isolation.

if a member has been doing a great service and if he falters in one

or two messages, you may give him a warning of removal or put him in

moderation instead of direct removal.

i have already requested mr. kumar like i do to all other memebers

to stick to the following:

1. contribute messages without any personal comments.

2. do not indulge in criticism and only do addition of knowledge or

supplementing more information.

3. kindly post messages with a positive bias.

in view of the above, i request you to kindly remove the ban on mr.

kumar and let the thousands of members benefited from his knoweldge.

with best wishes and blessings
