Black Dust in Rudraksha's

Dear Ravinder,

I have been providing rudrakshas (which I get from the Rudra center, wash, dry and oil) for about four years to hundreds of Ishaya monks, and almost everyone has their rudrakshas darken over time because of the sweat and oils on the skin. The only way to prevent it would be to coat them with some kind of lacquer, which of course seals up the lovely healing energy and doesn't allow it to contact your skin. This would be bad. You don't want your rudrakshas to be grumpy. I'm not kidding. I don't know what you mean about dust; I have not ever encountered this. As long as your rudrakshas are happy, everything is fine ( giving them sunlight for a few hours, or gently rapping them against natural wood, clears negative energy and makes them "happy"). Good Luck!

Recently I have received Rudraksha those have lot of

to clean that black dust from Rudraksha's.I tried

cleaning those with hot water and soap but no

successes.

Also I have few rudrksha's,thoes were earlier light

brown in colour ,realizing that these are turning to

dark brown day by day .Is there a way to protect the

colours of Rudraksha's.

Regards

Ravinder

No need to boil it.

Just wash the beads and let them dry.

Then dip them in mustard oil overnight or good if done for a whole weak.

then soak them using a tissue paper or a cloth and then wear.

This is what I follow.

Why do u want to boil them.

Is boiling safe? I think the recesses that have dark areas are oil

that are not absorbed and have hardened up. The oil gets stuck in the

small fiber areas and don't drip off.

They aren't removed by scrubbing with a toothbrush with soap for some

reason.

One of the 3 beads that came with the Lashmi Puja package, the Ganesh

one, also has a lot of dark areas, looks like a resin or something

that is resistant to scrubbing. Came that way.

Using boiling water maybe loosen them up, though seems a little

punishing. Wanted comments being I tried dipping them into boiling water.
