Guest guest
This post is in response to the question. <<don't the Temples run out of energy, like hospitals run out of blood? In Hospitals, you have to order extra blood. What happens in Temples, as most of our people goto temple always to ask for something, never give anything?>> A temple is a source of power. We have two kind of temples. 1. Temples erected over a source of power. Khamakya, Jwalamukhi, Vaishno Devi temples are some of them. Normally there are no idols here. The Murti is Pinda Rupa. 2. Temples which are constructed as per the Agama Sasthra by installing a Murti or an Yantra. The temple itself is mostly in the form of an Yantra. The power of the temple increase by the prayers of the devotees. More devotees worship and the power increases. If the number of devotees decrease, the temple loses power. Of course the question of whether the power decreases because there are no devotees, or the number of devotees decrease because of the decrease in power, is a egg and chicken question. It does not matter that almost all the devotees go for Karyasiddhi. In such cases a Punaruddharana is done to restore the power. This ceremony draws more devotees to the temple. The problem in many temples is that we have forgotten the Mula Mantra used while originally consecrating the temple. Jai MAA !!!

But my question remains- people goto temple always asking for something, so they are taking energy out of the system. If 10,000 people goto the temple, and 9990 are asking for lottery, and only 10 are actually praying, then isnt there a net energy loss? (This doesnt apply to Shakti Pith, of course) Shantnu
Guest guest
All Devotees go to temples or for that matter pray to God for getting something in return. May be some of them do not ask for mundane things. They ask for the Dharshan of MAA, Moksha, Bhukthi, Mukthi etc. Most of our so called Swamijis want Fame and Popularity. Sri Ramakrishna always prayed to MAA to send the right disciples. To distinguish between a prayer for a lottery and a prayer for Mukthi & other things is a judgment of values. To God/MAA all devotees are equal. All are her children. So the power of the temples does not depend on what the devotees want, but only on their prayers. Jai MAA !!!
