Hi Koolkanya,

The mind is a tool, like the body, the senses etc, that can be used by

the Self in its goal of Moksha.

When you say "I went to the market", you are identifying with your

body. But the real you doesnt go anywhere, it merely observes. By

commiting acts when identifying with your body, you get stuck in the

Karmic cycle. But if you merely observe all actions and refuse to

identify with them, you are not bound by Karma. An example of this

that you write checks, but dont sign them.

This is very difficult- commiting actions, living in the world without

identifying with them. So Krishna gave a simpler way- merely surrender

all actions to him, this way also you are not bound by laws of Karma.

The mind is just our slave, but like a naughty child it has become the

master of the house, forcing us to satisfy its every whim. Then we

become identified with those actions, and get stuck in th Karmic trap.

Like a master, if we refuse to listen to the slave, but make it dance

to our tune, we can make it do wonders. The mind is a super powerful

tool, only thing it has gone psycho, like a child in a big toy store,

and is refusing to complete its real goal- Moksha for us.

So we have to grab the mind by the neck, and get it start working for

what it was made for.

Hopefully this long winded essay answered your question!

Hi Lalu bhai,

When I say Shiv, I mean the Divine Conciousness that is the cause of

the whole world, including the trinity Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh. The

Trinity is a part of him, but is above Maya. So Vishnu know he is also

Mahesh, and Brahma is also Vishnu. There is no difference between

them, no matter what the Vaishnavites/Shaivites tell you.

Since Shiv created the World(there is also the concept of Shakti here,

as it She who creates the World, while Shiv just observes, but for the

moment I will assume they are one), he is the first cause. It is

because of him that the Law of Cause and Effect come into being, but

he is above them, as if he werent, he would not be the Lord, but just

another being.

There are several bondages like Karma, Maya, Aanav Mala which bind

normal souls in Law of Cause and Effect, but not Shiv. He puts these

Malas on Him to make Him forget Himself, so He can discover the joy of

rediscovering Himself. I will discuss these later.
