Guest guest
thank you once again for clarification. I just want to make sure however is it according to parashara that durga is considered a tamasic diety is that correct? also I have rahu in the 6th in karakamsa dhanus (karka rising), I was wondering does that mean I pray to durga. what is your feeling on this? I know you would have to look at my chart for further inquiry. I can provide that personally to you. sincerely, __________________________ __________________________ Raja Gursahani 15690 Orchard Way Kerman, CA 93630 (cell) 314.761.3134 rajagursahani
Guest guest
Dear Raja, No Durga is not tamasika deity. No deity by itself is tamasika. Actually the reference to Tamasic has to be sen as one who fights or what we call as Ugra rupa of a deity. It is said that the 6th from Amatyakaraka also shows the ishta Devata, You may send me your chart and I shall try to find out the reasons. Again one has to understand that the reference is to ishta devata. Ishta has two connotations. First is one which one is attracted to and other is the one which can do ishta (good/welfare) to self.
