Perfect Master - Part 1

In order to derive full benefit from Science of Spirituality, it is

absolutely necessary to have the guidance of a living Master, or an

adept both in the science and art of spirituality.

He must be a perfect Saint who can lead aspirants to perfection. If

the blind leads the blind, both fall into a ditch is a common

aphorism too well known to need any comment.

There are various grades and stages on the spiritual path. A Saint

of the highest order alone can safely take the jivas to the pinnacle

of spirituality. One who is a novice or has climbed half-way cannot

take a jiva to the top. In an educational institution we see that

there are different types of teachers for different classes. In this

science also there a number of grades and degrees, as for instance,

Guru, SadGuru, Param SadGuru.

A Perfect Master has no hallmark on his person. It is by personal

contacts that one gradually begins to know something of His

greatness, just as a student when he advances in studies gets to

know little by little something of the ability of His teacher.

Again, the Master cannot disclose all His greatness at once, but

only in proportion as an aspirant shows His keenness and makes

progress on the path. The Master starts just like an ordinary

teacher and imparts instructions as any friend or well-wisher would

do. In course of time, He demonstrates the authority of a Master on

the path, and finally is seen embedded in Truth as Sadguru or the

Master of Truth; until there comes a stage when He and God appear

merged in each other with no line of demarcation between them.

Baba Said....

"Hearing the stories of the Saint is in a way, keeping their

company. The importance of the company of the Saints is very great.

It removes our body consciousness and egoism, destroys completely

the chain of our birth and death, cuts asunder all the knots of the

hearts and takes us to God, who is pure consciousness".

Question : Anger burns oneself and others as well. How can we take

control over this?

Answer

It was not possible to extinguish anger even for a sage like Durvasa

so easily. Many wise men and saints have also fallen prey to this.

Anger comes from ego. If even a trace of pride is left in anybody

anger may erupt whenever the pride is hurt. If one sincerely wants

to get rid of anger he should think of Baba at the very first moment

of anger and pray, "O Baba put off my anger". At that moment if

the person who is causing anger is around then one should just walk

out of that place and do not indulge in arguments. Baba had

said, "When two people fight with each other, I hold him dearer who

is more enduring". This should be remembered consciously

that, "Baba has said so, therefore, I will endure this anger". One

should always nourish this thought. By doing this one can gradually

find control over anger. It will take time to master such a feeling.

Baba is every where just feel him and keep on saying `Om Sai Ram' to

whom so ever you meet.

Shri Sai does not make things difficult for anyone. We at times,

suffer the result of our past actions. Please pray to Him sincerely.

He only helps, faith without patience is not consistent.

Human beings will always have problems in one aspect of life or the

other, whether they are big or small, whether they are evil or pure.

All such sufferings are correlated to earlier life's action plus

this life's. It is better to remember God more in happier times than

in sorrow, as Saint Kabir said.

For those who want to come closer to Baba the only way is, to keep

unshakable faith in Him under all circumstances. But, some people

come to Sadguru with the desire of worldly gains or exhibit their

devotion with such expectations in their heart. Sometimes, when

their desires are not fulfilled or when they have to suffer

consequences of their own past actions they tend to lose their

faith. In the time of any Avtar or Sadguru every wish of every man

was never fulfilled. Sadguru never fulfills those desires, which

would become barrier in bringing them closer to God. There is His

hand behind unfulfillment of such desires. Therefore, one who can

see Baba both, in pleasure and pain, is the true devotee. The

pleasure seekers are bound to deviate from the path.

OM SAI SRI SAI JAI JAI SAI!!! Let us pray at the lotus feet of

Bhagwan Baba who is the incarnation of all gods and protector of

all, to show mercy on us, and increase our devotion towards him

Jai Sai Ram

Swamy Mahadevan

Bow to Shri Sai-Peace be to all

Baba Bless you ever!!!
