Guest guest
Are sufferings non evitable? Sairam, There is a wit, on this topic: One farmer met an astrologer, told him like, he’s into deep troubles since 8 yrs or so, and, asked the astrologer, to look into his jaatakam (written based on one’s birth date/time/place.) The astrologer, after spending few minutes, and, after thoroughly investigating, has replied, “Now you’re in your bad times, because of the placement/status of various grahas (planets).” The astrologer added, “The same situation will continue for 5 more years.” The farmer inquired, “Okay, what about my luck/fate, after this 5 yrs.” There is lot of hopes, in his inquiry. The astrologer, coolly mentioned, “Since then, you will be used to all sorts of difficulties.” It seems like, one after other, one form or other, difficulties and sufferings are attacking an individual, and, one has to get used to them, by becoming less expectant, and, accepting things in the form that they reach him. This is good, in the sense of becoming a purified soul with less/no expectations. Shri Baba has mentioned, once: Everyone asks me, “I WANT PEACE.” Remove “I” (Get rid of your EGO.) Remove “WANT” (Don’t pray for physical comforts.) Then, what remains is the only "PEACE". (in the statement, "I WANT PEACE") So, one has to understand like, all the difficulties and sufferings should lead him/her in becoming non-egoistic, non-expectant, and, remain with PEACE of mind.
