Guest guest
OM NAMAH SIVAYA thanks for this great story. maybe She was the younger Amma of yesterday visiting HerSelf? did Amma shower Her with flowers? your story reminds me of the story below i received today. Maybe someOne should have turned Her to the Sun..... A great emperor purchased a horse for ten thousand rupees. The horse was restless and no one was able to ride it. Then his son Sikandar said, "Beloved father, I can ride this horse". He sat on the horse and rode it in the direction of the sun. The horse galloped. The emperor was quite astonished. He said, "O Sikandar: How did you manage to ride this horse?" Sikandar replied, "The horse was afraid of his own shadow so I made him run towards the sun". Such is the restless horse-mind also. If you turn it towards atman (self) it will be peaceful. If you turn it towards maya (delusion) it will jump and dance. She was yelling and shouting during bajans, grabbing everybody's attention. When volunteers were trying to stop her, she shouted loudly 'I hate men, I hate men'. Couple of ladies had to pacify her since she wouldn't listen to men. During bajans when a song finishes and ashramites are flipping through Bajanamritam for next song (in the break), she would pass some weired comments, this lady seems to be extremely confrontational. The scene became absurd in concluding phase during 'Amma Amma Taye', She ran into front of the line and sat in Lotus Posture. This is the moment when everybody go in circle and Ammachi blasts rose petals, but this lady was first in line and sat in Lotus Posture (eyes closed) and not budging. Now ashramites (all men) grabbed and pushed her aside making way for devotees. > > Besides that NYC program was really great, I got to do Prasad seva. I was there on the stage during the baby feeding, first baby seemed to be scared, but second baby was directly staring at Ammachi without a blink, that was a sight to behold. > > It was nice meeting Ammasiswari, Ananthasree, Jyostna form this group. Guest guest
I remember that girl from two years ago. I saw her again this weekend. I remembered thinking that she was more calm than the last time I saw her. Guest guest
I have to say that I feel a little funny about how this "crazy lady" is being discussed and speculated upon in such a public forum. She or someone she knows could be reading. In fact, I was acquainted with her a number of years before meeting Amma. While I don't feel comfortable commenting about her, specifically, I do want to point out that, while, say, the love-drunkenness of the Sufis or madness of the mystics could be confused for "craziness," there can be a real danger in romanticizing or spiritualizing mental illness. Sincerely, Iswari > Ammachi, "Prashanti " <ammasprashanti@> > wrote: > > > > Nice point of comparison to Amma's persona of calling herself "just > a crazy > > girl."
