Guest guest
Anyone know what color Amma wore for Devi Bhava last night? I'm very sorry that I had to miss it. Erica

Guest guest
Om Amriteswaryai namah, Re Devi's clothes: The color blue... a little bit turquoise, a little bit robin's egg (at times), and then it looked sort of like Windex or Windshield Wiper Fluid. Or "electric" blue, one might say. At times it felt royal blue, befitting the Queen of Saints. (I wonder if different people see different colors or shades of color.) (I wonder what the word for "blue" is in Malayalam...and other of the World's languages.) Powerfully "water" it seemed to me. Which made me wonder: is the color of bluesky we see today different than it used to be, pre-pollution or pre-industrial revolution-level burning of such concentrated amounts of organic material? The smog layer over New York is so obvious on high ozone days like today, that the eye wondered... (Sorry you couldn't make it Erica. People kept telling me that when Amma looks out into the crowds at programs She says she thinks of everyone who's face is not there.) At the end of the Devi Bhava there were, I think, about three baby feedings -- much splashing of water Newborn!!! -- and one wedding. (The bride wore that lovely deep maroon color.) After the closing prayers, when Amma came out of the temple in Her pure white cloths, radiant, She enjoyed viewing some pictures on the computer -- not sure what She looked at, I heard people say it was Her babies at the Ashram in India, but Her comportment was SO full of love and giggling at the screen and blowing them yummy yummy scrumptious delicious kisses. She really bent down to get a good look! lots of love, Prashanti
Guest guest
ONS Prashanti put in excellent way. Other thing I want to mention about NYC program was about a crazy lady (seems like she is in mid 20's). She was yelling and shouting during bajans, grabbing everybody's attention. When volunteers were trying to stop her, she shouted loudly 'I hate men, I hate men'. Couple of ladies had to pacify her since she wouldn't listen to men. During bajans when a song finishes and ashramites are flipping through Bajanamritam for next song (in the break), she would pass some weired comments, this lady seems to be extremely confrontational. The scene became absurd in concluding phase during 'Amma Amma Taye', She ran into front of the line and sat in Lotus Posture. This is the moment when everybody go in circle and Ammachi blasts rose petals, but this lady was first in line and sat in Lotus Posture (eyes closed) and not budging. Now ashramites (all men) grabbed and pushed her aside making way for devotees. Besides that NYC program was really great, I got to do Prasad seva. I was there on the stage during the baby feeding, first baby seemed to be scared, but second baby was directly staring at Ammachi without a blink, that was a sight to behold. It was nice meeting Ammasiswari, Ananthasree, Jyostna form this group. I guess others can add more insights. ONS Avinash. Guest guest
Nice point of comparison to Amma's persona of calling herself "just a crazy girl." The avadhuti-like behaving one (contra the discipline of the hall) also wore a similar shade to Devi: BVM coloured blue on the lower half, and her toenails were colored with a sparkly silver-blue. "To one who doesn't hear the music the dancers look crazy." Sufi proverb She seemed less wild to me this year. I wish I could remember her name. loveprashanti On 7/17/06, ecjensen_us <ecjensen_us > wrote: > > OM NAMAH SIVAYA > > thanks for this great story. maybe She was the younger Amma of > yesterday visiting HerSelf? did Amma shower Her with flowers? > > >

The look on that first baby's face made me laugh! It looked so...highly suspicious! ;-D > It was nice meeting Ammasiswari, Ananthasree, Jyostna form this group. I guess others can add more insights. It was nice seeing you too! I'm always so sorry that I never really have time to talk to anyone outside of the seva context in NYC, because of my coordinating the darshan lines.
