dear friends

there is a general perception that shaligram is worshipped by

vaishnavaites and not shaivaites as it represents goddess of wealth

lakshmi and many puranas have eulogised the worshipping of shaligram

for pleasing laxmi and vishnu.

there are very rarely available shivling shaligrams in which instead

of the chakras, a shivling is carved naturally within the

shaligram. as is the case with all shaligrams, they carry a small

quantity of gold which is mostly lost in natural processs by the

time it is taken from the river and came to the homes of the

devotees for worshipping. while worshipping a shaligram pleases

laxmi, worshipping a shaligram with gold in it makes goddess laxmi

dwell in that place.

the miraculous part of all shaligrams is that only in the shivling

shaligrams, we find the entire shivling within the shaligram is made

up of gold and in all shivling shaligrams, traces of gold are

visible. by worshipping the shivling shaligram with a tulasi leaf

and a bilva patram, the shiv bhakt gets the blessings from both lord

shiva and goddess laxmi. those devotees who are in grihastha and

wish to improve their financial matters are recommended for

worshipping the shivling shaligram containing a gold shivling within

it as it is believed to grant wealth to the worshipper.

a photograph of the rare conch shaped golden shivling shaligram is

posted in the photos section of this group.

in praise of lord shiva and with best wishes
