Guest guest
Dear Prasann ji (and other contributors to MS thread), Indeed diseases are quite the challenge to astrology. MS even more since it has been called a chimera of diseases. Like mercury the great mimic, the disease shows up in so many different forms and strikes suddenly often just when life is going so smoothly and everything is hunky dory. Knowing a few close friends and how the disease devastated their lives and of their families, a personal link exists. But this is a deceptive disease, a veritable fitna! What about other diseases? Do they have a clear and predictable signature? For most astrologers, perhaps not! I realize that very experienced members and professionals etc would like to fight that and claim in general terms that this is not so and may even make a statement that intuition has nothing to do with astrology, just because of the last four letters in its name! I will leave that there! For the majority, a detailed horoscope is a mass of figures and numbers and patterns. They mean things to us individually or in small groups, but when facing the blind alley of human experience, often it is difficult to decipher the exact pattern and what would ensue. There are some very clear rules, and there are not so clear rules and there are so many dashas and vargas and other nuances and layers. Many revolt and return to basics, the black and white of rashi, maybe a navamsha and a dasha. Then they hit the quagmire of ayanamshas and different dasha durations and role of nakshatras and padas and jaimini vs parashara and the juggernaut begins again! For time to time, in this babbel one hears the clear sated voice of someone who has found the ayanamsha he seeks, for example Suresh Balaraman. Right or wrong, one can only feel happy for his state of mind. He has found peace, at least for now. Such faith and belief and contentment indeed brings peace. Such individuals do not even need astrology. Most others who are restless individuals, however, would continue to need astrology -- not having instant faith and a questioning mind and the need for the logic in astro-logic, the frail branch on which we must hang on to because we can see the rapidly flowing wild river of chaos below, can sense the consequences if we give up and let go and have not lost our ability to think of, if not see the future! It will be a unique day if astrologers suddenly give up their habit of questioning even themselves and others and move away from the gift of uhapoh. It is a natural instinct and not just a habit. It is like breathing! We live on oxygen which someone recently associated with Jupiter or Jeeva! RR
