Guest guest
I was amazed to see postings on this forum on Multiple Sclerosis (MS) because some time back only I was asking for it for myself! Most of the doctors would be unsure about its diagnosis and would not know the Origin/Cause/Cure and to top it all how it would affect in future is completely left on fate!! I think here Astromedicine/remedy can help a big time!! MS was not much heard of earlier in India but it is catching up in India also now. May be the artificial conditions, stress, movement of people to altogether different geographic locations and changed biological routine- working during the nights and sleeping during the days. Whatever be the reason because medical science is unable to provide any reason for it!! I found the Mars-Mercury conjunction as an interesting observation. In my birth chart I also have Mars in my 1st house and Retro Mercury in the 2nd but it is conjunct with Venus. DOB: March 19, 1973, Place-Bali (Pali) Rajasthan, INDIA Time: 4:03 AM I had my first episode in Rahu-Venus period on March 10 or 11, 2005 and then 2006 again around March end when doctors felt that it could be Relapsing Remitting MS. I have noted that all the charts provided by Charles have Rahu-Venus conjunction. I have been reading that Venus represent white colored substances in body and so also it has been mainly associated with reproductive health etc.Just thought it might interest the astro gurus and other interested people that Myelin (may be Venus) is a white substance which keeps on covering the Nerves (Mercury). And in this disease of the nerve inflammation or degeneration happens due to demyelination. The insulation covering gets damaged by the hyperactive immune (auto) response which starts attacking its own nerves and thus leaving scars there. I would like to know more of astrolgical science for it. Especially to understand how this would behave in future for me. I think if the astro gurus pay heed to the subject, they can help a lot of people suffering from this dreadful and devastating disease by advising suitable astro remedies and/or preventive measures. Wish you all Luck to come with up suitable findings to help the sufferers. Regards Prasann PS: One more chart for your research and support. Guest guest
Dear Prasann, Thanks for contributing to this valuable discussion on MS. My brother was diagnosed with MS in 1989 and the subject is of particular interest to me. I will post his chart at another time. I find medical astrology very rewarding to study and research, and next chance I have I'd like to share the MS indicators I've noticed in some of the charts posted in this thread. Thanks for posting Sydney Omarr's chart. The birth particulars look a little different from what I had for him in my files, so I double-checked them at Astrodata Bank. They give August 5, 1926, 11:27 AM EDT, Philadelphia, PA. This gives him a Virgo lagna with a close Sun/Mercury conjunction in the 11th house and Sun as 12L of weakness or losses afflicting Mercury, representing the nerves and nerve weaknesses or other threats to the nerves. His MS was set off when he came under Mercury dasha in 1971 and the affliction of the Sun set in. What's fascinating about all these charts is the relationship between the natal indicators and the onset of the condition, and usually the indicators of onset are quite vivid and striking. I think it may also be possible to anticipate some of the MS "spells" and perhaps lessen their impact. Some doctors feel that MS is strongly related to long-term stress patterns, such as what Rahu and Ketu can do, and so do I. One more chart is worth mentioning: Jacqueline du Pre, one of the world's great cellists, whose MS ended her brilliant career. No one seems to have her time of birth, but I've been using the following birth data: Jan 26, 1945, 22:31, Oxford, England. I chose this time because Mars, Saturn, and the Sun all become malefic lords. This gives her a Virgo lagna and Mars, Mercury and Ketu in Sagittarius, and Moon, Rahu and Saturn in Gemini (nerves). Hers was the most serious of any MS case I've come across and unfortunately she experienced no remissions of her condition at all. The onset of the symptoms manifested under Mercury dasha in the early 1970s and she was never able to play publically again and passed over at the age of 42. Fortunately, most cases of MS are not as severe as hers, and it's interesting that while my brother has it, his overall health is rather good according to his doctors. Mercury and Saturn are key players and indicate the numbness or coldness that sometimes occurs in the limbs and extremities. The Nodes seem to be strong factors as well because the condition can be hard to diagnose or the symptoms masked. Mars and/or the 6L or 8L appear to correspond with certain flare-ups but there are of course no two charts the same. Best wishes to all that are living with this condition and may your health improve. I encourage other people to come forth and share what they know as well. The chart information is invaluable for research and I've collected every one that's been posted. Guest guest
Hello, I was formally diagnosed with MS in Jan of 2004. The symptoms that led to the formal diagnosis started in the June / July 2003. Basically numbness in my feet and fingers. Over the years since about 1992, I have had odd symptoms off and on that were never understood and/or diagnosed. Most of the time, it was stated that it was stress/anxiety and that I need to seek therapy, etc… I was tested for pretty much everything you can think of and all tests came up negative. However, I have always felt not "right" physically. So the diagnosis in some ways was a relief or vindication that I was not losing my mind. With that said, I have always pushed and succeeded in many ways. I am an extreme pitta type and it is my understanding of Ayurveda that this can contribute to this type of illness. I have made extreme lifestyle changes and manage the MS very well. I am very fortunate as it has helped my spiritual growth to re-focus. I do have some very simple questions that I am hoping someone can answer for me. 1.) In order to say something is conjunct is there a degree of tolerance. For example, VE and RA are 5 degrees apart. I would not think that is conjunction. 2.) I have been trying to unsuccessfully to correlate significant events to my vimshottari dasha chart and I am not having much success. My symptoms for the formal diagnosis occurred in a SA / VE period. Does that make sense? Is this a period that would be known to have issues for me? Thank you all for your patience with these simplistic questions. I wish all of you that are impacted in someway with MS, strength, courage and wisdom. Guest guest
Hi Charles, As a junior member, most of the time I read posts for learning. I am sorry to hear about your illness and pray to God to give you strength to deal with it. I don't want to interupt senior members of the group, but I thought I have found something would interst you and that correlates well when I cast your chart. Please note that all the infomation I am presenting is using Tarun's ayanamsa. Your ascendant is Taurus. Your 12th house has Mars, retrograde Me and Ju. Also in your chart you have Sa and Mo in the 10th house and Ket in 8th house. Su is in ascendant. At the time of start of symptoms during June/July 2003, your vimsottari dasa was as follows: Vimsottari Dasa (started from Moon): Merc MD: 1996-04-03 (6:46:09) - 2013-04-03 (15:37:30) Moon AD: 2003-05-04 (18:50:02) - 2004-10-06 (20:24:31) Mars PD: 2003-06-18 (0:39:30) - 2003-07-19 (5:19:01) Obvious points to note: 1. Mars & Merc are in 12th house with the lord of 8th house Jupiter. 2.Merc is retrograde and in the house of bitter enemy Mars who is exalted.. 3. Ketu a powerful malefic in 8th house aspecting 12th house by 5th aspect.(Ref. Sarvarth Chintamani translation by Bhasin) 4. Sa, a malefic aspecting 12th house fully by 3rd aspect. 5. Moon is aspecting 12th house by rasi drishti. For mercury, moon is enemy (per Raman). 6. Su has argala on 12th house and although it is considered malefic, it is friend a friend of Mars and neutral to Mercury. Here, the vimsottari dasa seem to correlate well with the outset of symptoms. I hope learned members will comment on my findings. With Regards, Pratap charles_corbit <charles_corbit > wrote: Hello, I was formally diagnosed with MS in Jan of 2004. Guest guest
Dear Charles, I am basically a superspecialist doctor (NEUROSURGEON).I never believed in Astrology & Futurology of any kind until 1995 April when my Venus Mahadasa started. We were a very happy family of THREE until then.Suddenly I got displaced to Saudi Arabia & UAE for nearly 3 years. Then on my return,my wife & daughter left for USA to seek greener pastures. My daughter who is a Gemini by Rasi & Libra by ascendant started being under her first 71/2 tyears of Saturnine influence in 1998.I am told that the first time Saturn's sade satti starts it affects one's parents.Exactly this happened. We got thrown by fate in THREE different parts of the globe. Then my second 71/2 years of Sade Satti of Saturn started in Sept 2002.I was misdiagnosed as having severe CORONARY ARTERY DISEASE & underwent several times coronary angiography & even stenting. My basic symptom was difficulty in swallowing.I was even suggested to give up my stressful profession & start General practice as even after stenting, the original symptom continued to progress.Even when I was free of stress & relaxed totally in good company,I still experienced the difficulty in swallowing.I knew something sinister was fast progressing & unless I took it seriously & curbed it,it wud devour me.I underwent endoscopic biopsy of a tumor detected on endoscopy on my insistance. It turned out to be a malignancy. It devastated me no end with my family away from me & none to seek solace & comfort from,EXCEPT GOD.HE gave me the strength to undergo chemotherapy & Radiotherapy & their consequent side effects & am finally declared as cured.IT IS JUST MY SPIRIT THAT WUD NOT GIVE UP THOUGH MY BODY WAS TIRING OUT FASTER THAN EXPECTED.At one point,I wrote these TWO attached articles to the CANCER journal & they got published.Somehow when all the experts ruled me out,I just refused to believe that I was fighting a fast losing battle & doubled my efforts to stay alive & kicking. One good astrologer had predicted that my Jupiter placement wud save me & recommended that I strengthen him by praying fervently.I did this & overcame the malady. Then recently I was struck with urinary stones coming down & had to undergo THREE surgical proceedures. This I was told was due to malefic Venus(who controls our Genitals) & then I started praying fervently to appease him too.I am now slowly recovering. All these tough times only taught me to get tougher mentally & seek solace in spirituality. While the body prishes, the Atma is INDESTRUCTIBLE.we foolishly hang on physical appearances & forms. The sooner one realises this TRUTH,the better it is for oneself. ----- Fight back spam! Guest guest
Dear Charles, Namaste As you know, I have dabbled in Jyotish somewhat. And having found that a serious study of Jyotish is not for me, I prefer to seek guidance from those for whom Jyotish is a passion and profession rather than attempting to predict events on my own. However, I would like to take a stab at shedding some light on your chart with regards to Multiple Sclerosis. So please take the following attempt with a grain of salt. My hope is that it may spawn more posts from the Jyotishis about your chart to further your understanding of the indications in your birth chart. Saturn Mahadasha: Saturn is conjuct Moon (conjunct means in the same house -- they do not have to be on top of eachother to be conjunct) and aspects Sun, Lagna, and Lagnesh (Lord of Lagna = Mars). This is quite significant because all 4 (Lagna, Lagnesh, Moon, and Sun) are related to health and general well-being. Also one could say that from all 3 Lagnas (Ascendant, Moon, Sun) Saturn influences the 1st house. Therefor, during it's dasha one could reasonably expect that health & well-being will become one of the major focuses. Your Lagna (the main one- Aries) is well fortified -- I would not expect 5th lord Sun or 9th Lord Jupiter or Lagnesh Mars to offer much affliction, rather by lordship mostly all are benefic. However, Mercury and Saturn can be said to be afflicting the Lagna. Mercury is said to indicate nerve centers and Saturn is said to be an indicator the nerve structure. This would seem to coincide with the nature of the illness. Mercury is also, I belief, a planet that indicates variety. For instance, it is a tridoshic planet. Its retrogression gives it an "unusual" attribute. So perhaps Mercury is the main indicator of the variety of unusual symptons you have experienced. The mystery surrounding the illness and difficulty of diagnosis may be seen by the placement of Mercury and Saturn in Nakshatras owned by shadowy planets (Rahu & Ketu). Lagnesh Mars is also placed in Ketu's nakshatra. Venus sub-period: It is not easy to see why the diagnosis occured during the Venus period, but it is easy to see that the potential was there: The Lagna is in Venus's Nakshatra. Venus is placed in Mercury's house, in a Nakshatra of Mars and is afflicted by the Rahu/Ketu axis. The 3rd house is the house of initiative/own efforts- perhaps the diagnosis occured as a prod for you to initiate change in such things as diet like you have described. Venus as 2nd lord would be an indicator of diet, and 2nd lord conjuct Rahu may indicate that diet is prone to revolutionary change. Further, Saturn is in a Nakshatra of Rahu and Rahu/Ketu was transiting through the 2nd/8th house axis during this Saturn-Venus period. Is this diagnosis what prompted you to start a study of Ayurveda and a change of diet? If so, perhaps the Saturn-Venus period may make more sense in light of that. You said that the first systoms started to show up around 1992 - that corresponds pretty close to the end of the Jupiter mahadasha and start of the Saturn mahadasha. The Saturn Mahadasha, when looking at the overall trend, would also be expected to give steady & gradual rise in gains & career because Saturn is 10th & 11th lord and seated in his own house. As I am sure you can tell there is a vast amount of relationships contained in a birth chart. Therefore, it is fairly easy to string together a explanation that may indicate why events have transpired when looking in retrospect. It is quite different to predict a future event. This must require the hard work of pouring over MANY charts over MANY years to discover which relationships and indications are given more weight & when; and/or it requires the intuition that points one to the most revelant indications and relationships out of the MANY that can be found in the chart. Therefor, I have developed tremendous respect for Jyotishis. This is the main fruit that my studies of Jyotish have yeilded. I have furnished additional comments below in the midst of your post: , "charles_corbit" <charles_corbit wrote: > > Hello, > > I was formally diagnosed with MS in Jan of 2004. I think that the extreme Pitta can be seen in the chart by the very strong lagnesh Mars in lagna, as well as the Sun so close to the Lagna degree, as well as just the sheer number of planets in Aries. BTW, I did not know MS was associated with Pitta. It also seems very Vata in nature to me due to the sporatic & varied nature of the symptoms and difficulty in diagnosis/discovering a tangible cause. I know the allergies are definitely related to Pitta! >I have made extreme > lifestyle changes and manage the MS very well. I think the managing of the MS very well is indicated in the chart by an overall very strong Lagna. > I am very fortunate > as it has helped my spiritual growth to re-focus. I think Saturn tends to give exactly this type of fortune Take it easy, Sean

Guest guest
Thnx Charles. I would appreciate that too if some astroguru could help analyze this because little bit what I read is that Saturn and Venus are staunch friends to bring the best of fortune...do not know of ill health Do not know much on conjunction. But that means Venus may be having some malific effect thus demyelination (scarring/removal of white colored myelin from the nerves) could happen. Could you also tell me if you had any thing else beyond tremors? Like I had double vision first and then optic neuritis in the right eye. prasann , "charles_corbit" <charles_corbit wrote: > > Hello, > > I was formally diagnosed with MS in Jan of 2004. Guest guest
Thanks for your response. Truly hope your brother is doing well. Could you tell me if he is on some medication- interferons or something?? This itself is big question for me. Wether to start the medication or NOT!! I learn lot many MS patients prefer alternate medicine- yoga and massage therapies...depending on the severities. Is your brother in India or abroad if I may ask. Because I am also contemplating on whether to relocate to US to bear the expensive interferon costs or reside in India only and have the alternate therapy. Would appreciate if you can also share if your brother ever had any vision or other part affected due to MS. I had double vision when first diagnosed then a little tremors on the right side and then very dim vision from the right eye (optic neuritis) prasann , "haizen" <haizen wrote: > > Dear Prasann, > > Thanks for contributing to this valuable discussion on MS. > My brother was diagnosed with MS in 1989 and the subject > is of particular interest to me.
Guest guest
Hello Sean, I want to thank you for the detailed and insightful post. It is a lot to absorb, but I was able to follow it pretty well. As with most areas of knowledge, the terminology is the first thing that needs to be understood. I have an active interest in astronomy, so sometimes the overlapping terms, such as conjunction can be confusing and misleading. You are correct; my MS diagnosis has really prompted me to make some extreme changes. For the last 10 years or so, I have been on a spiritual quest; however, the majority of my efforts have been more academic in nature. After my diagnosis, I was depressed for a month or so, and then I started practicing hatha yoga and self study of scriptures. I transitioned from a standard American diet to a whole foods low fat and now a vegetarian diet. I also worked with an ayurvedic doctor for a year or so, started meditation and a pitta balancing life style (no more 60-80 work weeks). The list goes on, but it literally was a 180 degree change in direction initiated by the diagnosis. I can honestly view my diagnosis as a positive event. As far a MS being a pitta illness, I have read that in at least two of the books I have on Ayurveda. The references are not detailed, but it is listed in summary tables, etc… But you are obviously correct that vata is the controlling dosha of the nervous system. I can definitely say that my MS symptoms are exacerbated when my pitta tendencies increase. Namaste, Charles
Guest guest
Hello Prasann, If you would like, I can e-mail you with my experience with my MS along with my experience with interferon (rebif) and alternate approachs. Although, MS is so unique in how it affects each person, my experience might help you. I do not want the moderators to reprimand me for going off topic. So, please e-mail me, if you are interested. Your profile said your e-mail was private. I am out of town tomorrow until Friday, but I will get back to you. Namaste, Charles , "prasannman" <prasannman wrote: > > Thanks for your response. Guest guest
Dear Charles (and others who shared), As primary instigator of this wonderful thread of sharing and precursors, I must request and beg you friends to not pull back and continue to share publicly. If you do not hear back anything significant about MS, it is not because we are blase' but because we do not KNOW and are learning from all this sharing thanks to all you brave individuals who are suffering the battles and frontlines that may bring the ultimate victory to the rest of us! Please do not stop sharing! If we, the jyotishis really knew all the answers there would not be the need for all the hundreds and thousands of new books and retranslations of the original scriptures which are touted if not claimed to have ALL ANSWERS! So, regardless of 'pat' answers which we will never get rid of and so on, please ignore all that and continue sharing! MS has flummoxed the best medical minds and now we have an accomplished Neurosurgeon amongst us who may confirm and agree to the insolubility of this neurological problem known as MS! So let none of us, scientist or astrologer or psychic lightly brag and minimize the horrendous toll this disorder places on individuals, families and communities! Just as we would not take a bombing or other terrorist attack on a community lightly! MS represents nothing different from a terrorist attack on an individual, from forces within! How uncannily and scarily similar that is to what causes and leads to societal terrorism! -- In , "charles_corbit" <charles_corbit wrote: > > Hello Prasann, > > If you would like, I can e-mail you with my experience with my MS > along with my experience with interferon (rebif) and alternate > approachs. Guest guest
Dear Prasann, Comments below... , "prasannman" <prasannman wrote: > > Thanks for your response. Truly hope your brother is doing well. > Could you tell me if he is on some medication- interferons or > something?? He's stable... but unfortunately basically bedridden. He has taken interferons to slow down the progress of this condition. He's taking another drug as well and I'll find out more and share the information with you. He has placed his life completely in the hands of his doctors and not open to any alternative help. He made a great deal of money when he was working but will not spend anything on himself for such things as therapy or massage. It's hard to say, but I feel that he might be better off now if he had. (For instance, he gave his care-taker wife a $10,000 ring in appreciation but will not spend for even the simple things that might possibly make him feel better.) > This itself is big question for me. Wether to start the medication or > NOT!! I learn lot many MS patients prefer alternate medicine- yoga > and massage therapies...depending on the severities. Do you know about the singer Lola Falana? Her MS went into remission from dietary and habit changes, plus I'm sure with some other medical intervention. There are interesting articles on diet and the need to avoid wheat gluten, which has been proven to be destructive to the nerves. Allergy sensitivity may also be a factor in immune responses. I would search out those articles on the exceptions to the rules and not those who stuck to standard medical procedures only. Standard medicine has no cures for anything and they say so; they can only help the person manage symptoms. But Integrative Medicine says the body can heal itself if given a chance. The works of Dr. Andrew Weil are wonderful and I heartily recommend them to you. For more energy, I would start with his "Breathing - The Master Key to Good Health." I've been doing his simple exercises for a year and, wow, the difference! The body needs oxygen and it's interesting how much Mercury has to do with MS, and Mercury represents the breath. Weil's other works are highly recommended. The idea is to get to the root causes of the condition and this is where Integrative Medicine is a great advance in treating chronic conditions no matter have serious or advanced. > Is your brother in India or abroad if I may ask. Because I am also > contemplating on whether to relocate to US to bear the expensive > interferon costs or reside in India only and have the alternate > therapy. Brother is in US. It might be worth a visit to US to put both sides of the equation in perspective. Nevertheless, as long as a condition is viewed as "incurable" by the medical profession, there is only feeble interest in those MS people who have gone into remission through alternative means. > Would appreciate if you can also share if your brother ever had any > vision or other part affected due to MS. Brother's vision is okay after 17 years. I hope more can be done for you or that you will respond positively to methods that support the natural healing powers of the body. Sometimes a certain amount of experimentation is involved. In the meantime, I'll find out more what my brother is using. There's a mantra to help someone who's searching for the right treatment method of any illness, and you might try it: OM SRI DHANVANTRE NAMAHA (calls in the Celestial Physician) Also, here are two mantras for the eyes: OM ASHWINI DEVATAYA NAMAHA (when there's concern about possible blindness) OM GRINIHI SURYAYA ADITYOM (for the healing of the eyes) --from Mantra Meditation For Physical Health by Thomas Ashley-Farrand > prasann Sincere best wishes, Haizen > , "haizen" <haizen@> wrote: > > > > Dear Prasann, > > > > Thanks for contributing to this valuable discussion on MS. > > My brother was diagnosed with MS in 1989 and the subject > > is of particular interest to me. Guest guest
After reading Rohiniranjan's request, I decided to post a bit more detailed background on my history with MS. For reference, I am posting my DOB again as I am always looking for feedback on how events transpired relative to astrological indicators. DOB: May 6th, 1964 4:52 EST (5:52 DST) Place: Reading, PA, USA 75W56 40N20 As I stated in a previous post, my first symptoms appeared around 1992. I was recently divorced and started to go to the gym to work out to be more "marketable". I was concentrating on strength building and really pushing myself. I started to get lightheaded periods and what I can describe as "whooshes" in my head. I went to the doctor and I am not sure why, but it was mentioned that it could be MS. I did an MRI, but it came back negative. I was told that it was stress and anxiety related and I should see a therapist. For the record, I was eating a very high fat, junk food diet and not keeping a regular schedule for sleep. Once I quit working out so intently, the symptoms were mitigated. Now over the next 10 years or so, I had a variety of symptoms that came and went. However, most symptoms where lightheaded in nature and a general feeling of just not feeling "right". I was tested for hypoglycemia, diabetes, epilepsy, sleep apnea, sleep study and cardiac heart stress test, etc… I found my normal resting heart rate is very low, around 50-55. When I sleep, my heart goes down to 35 at times. I achieved quite a bit in there years career wise and it was not uncommon to work 60-80 hours week. I had a terrible diet and sleep schedule supplementing every waking breath with large amounts of coffee. Although, I never had vision problems that were detected, I often felt during my episodes that I was kind of looking through a tunnel, sort of vignetted. Almost like I was missing some of the data. It is hard to describe. However, my vision test always came up negative and I do not even wear glasses. Somewhere in around 1999, my lightheadedness was getting worse and I would feel like I had to pass out, especially in the heat or after heavy physical exertion. I took a tilt test and I failed, so they had me on medication to keep my heart rate elevated. All during this time, I would have sinus infection after sinus infection, very bad seasonal allergies. I was taking OTC pain medications on a daily basis along with allergy medication. Unfortunately, I did not keep good records, so I cannot correlate to any dasha sub periods, etc.. Then in mid 2003, I started to get numbness in my toes. I thought it might be shoes I was wearing. Then I started to get numbness and tingling in my hands and also felt like I had a whole in my chest.; almost like I could not feel the existence of my torso. The doctors thought it was a pinched nerve, but finally through the MRIs, they found a lesion in my cervical spine and three lesions in my brain. The neurologist told me the diagnosis gave me a phone number for a MS support group, handed me a drug kit for Rebif (interferon) with a video tape on how to give myself injections and sent me on my way. Literally, there was no talk of alternatives, diet, etc… I went home and sunk into a depression for about a month or so. I contemplated it for some time and realized I must not fight this, not in the traditional sense of I am going to beat this, but I needed to accept it and learn to live with it. I started an ardent search on MS related materials, both allopathic and non-allopathic, meanwhile I started the injections. I reacted very well, some limited site reactions, but no major side effects. I read about yoga and western research on low fat diets. I read about Ayurveda and realized my lifestyle was the cause of many of my issues and probably contributed to my MS or at least hastened it along. As I started to make changes, I decided the risk factors and the potential damage to my liver from the interferon was not worth it. I fired my first neurologist and got another one who was much more open to discuss alternates, maybe not agree completely, but I feel like she considers me a partner in managing my health. I decided to quit the Rebif after a year and after I my last annual MRI showed no new activity and a lumber puncture came back negative!! I decided that if my condition would worsen that I would consider starting again, but I truly believe taking care of myself dietwise and supplementing with vitamins is a key in stopping the progression. In summary, I made the following changes over a year period and have seen real benefits during this time. 1.) I follow an extremely low fat diet as detailed by Dr. Swank, http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594480931/sr=8- 4/qid=1152844043/ref=pd_bbs_4/104-3411947-5635924?ie=UTF8 2.) I take high dosages of vitamins as detailed by a board certified neurologist, Perlmutter, who describes studies which indicate a beneficial impact on neurological functions. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1594480931/sr=8- 4/qid=1152844043/ref=pd_bbs_4/104-3411947-5635924?ie=UTF8 3.) I practice hatha yoga on a very routine basis 4.) I try to meditate regularly; however, I do struggle with this. 5.) I do not eat any processed foods and concentrate on whole organic foods. 6.) I follow a pitta balancing ayurvedic lifestyle 7.) I concentrate on practicing yamas and niyamas Amazingly, I do not take any medicines anymore. I do not get sick like I use to. I do not get headaches. My allergies are much less. And although, I still get occasionally numbness and tingling, it is not getting worse. However, recently it seems a bit more and I do tend to fatigue easier. But it does not bother me that much. I do not define myself as my MS. It is a symptom of my karma, of my flawed human body, but I am not my body, I am not MS. I have been extremely blessed and do not believe I would be living the life I have had it not be for this diagnosis. I realize that physically things could change very quickly as the nature of MS is so unpredictable. However, my concern since my diagnosis has been broadened to include more than just this life; it has allowed me to re-focus my efforts in a manner which I never would have comprehended ten years ago. I am hoping my efforts now will allow me to face the inevitable decline of my physical body when the time comes with strength, courage and wisdom. Namaste, Charles For those who suffer with MS, I urge you to at least look into the links I mentioned above. I truly believe these methods can help lessen the impact. Guest guest
Thanks for being understanding and encouraging. This is surely a call from Humanity. Hope there could be remedies for cure or prevention to save the society from this strange disease to behave mysteriously and playing havoc. rgds prasann , "crystal pages" <jyotish_vani wrote: > > Dear Charles (and others who shared), > > As primary instigator of this wonderful thread of sharing and > precursors, I must request and beg you friends to not pull back and > continue to share publicly. > > If you do not hear back anything significant about MS, it is not > because we are blase' but because we do not KNOW and are learning > from all this sharing thanks to all you brave individuals who are > suffering the battles and frontlines that may bring the ultimate > victory to the rest of us! > > Please do not stop sharing! > > If we, the jyotishis really knew all the answers there would not be > the need for all the hundreds and thousands of new books and > retranslations of the original scriptures which are touted if not > claimed to have ALL ANSWERS! > > So, regardless of 'pat' answers which we will never get rid of and so > on, please ignore all that and continue sharing! > > MS has flummoxed the best medical minds and now we have an > accomplished Neurosurgeon amongst us who may confirm and agree to the > insolubility of this neurological problem known as MS! > > So let none of us, scientist or astrologer or psychic lightly brag > and minimize the horrendous toll this disorder places on individuals, > families and communities! > > Just as we would not take a bombing or other terrorist attack on a > community lightly! Guest guest
Goodness! It is quite sad to hear about your brother being bed- ridden. What about his huge expenses of interferons. And what does he do for his livelihood now. I think being in India one cant even afford intfrns. You are right that Interferons do have side effects and it is just not a welcome idea. But thats what docs always advise. To help it not progress take interferons. I was also advised for Rebif. But I do want to check out alternates. My family is totally paranoid, esp. my mom. What to talk of me. I really wonder what is next!!! Am seeking astrohealers for help. But again diff opninions.... Guest guest
Dear Charles and Prasnn: This is not related to astrology. but I thought I should share. Yesterday, I saw an hour long program on ABC Primetime about an energy healer. The kid is nineteen years old from Canada and is known to heal people through energy healing. What caught my attention was that he healed his mom from MS. To me his healing techique seemed like a mix of Reiki and Pranic healing, however he describes it as following in his website " Adam uses energy healing in a unique way to merge the auras of all participants with healing intentions. Then he uses holographic views to energetically affect through intention those present. His full-day workshop contains two group treatments. Adam’s workshops are participatory as through the use of visualizations he empowers individuals to use their own healing abilities. He will share his insights on this topic and share his own healing abilities with all attending. Adam guides your own healing abilities in the right direction and gives you some basic tools for improving and maintaining your health. He shows us how to take more effective control of our immune system and healing abilities through intention" He does tours in US and Canada, where he meets people for the group treatment. Here is his website: http://www.dreamhealer.com/ An overview of the program they showed on ABC yesterday http://abcnews.go.com/Primetime/story?id=2179784&page=1 Wish you the vey best in staying fit and well. I think this detail would help the readers, astro community and patients understand MS better and fight against it. Great Help indeed. I do wish you all the very best to stay fit and fine and overcome the challenge of MS. Let us keep discussing and extending this thread to find out better solutions and help each other. But he still has an amazingly good attitude. His interferon is covered by insurance and he made his fortune through his business and by making investments... he's a very wealthy man with a beautiful home and devoted wife. > I think being in India one cant even > afford intfrns. You are right that Interferons do have side effects > and it is just not a welcome idea. Hold on, now, just to be more fair...I never said directly he should not be on interferon nor brought up the subject of its side effects... I just reread my letter and I do find that. The interferon may have actually helped him. What I meant was he never put himself on a complete program of physical therapy or considered making dietary or life-style changes, other than the one's that were forced upon him by his condition. It was his decision to make and I respect that. Nevertheless, those people who have MS and have made a 180 degree voluntary turn in their lifestyle, seem to have benefited greatly and I think my brother might have too. Still, it was his choice to make and his life is his own. > But thats what docs always advise. In standard medicine, yes. But there are also those doctors in the field of Integrative medicine who offer many other options a MS person can do to see if it will help improve their condition, such as trying the Swank diet, etc., even if the person continues taking the interferon if the MS is advanced. > To help it not progress take interferons. Guest guest
Health Notes on Charles Corbit May 6, 1964, 5:52 EDT, Reading, PA, 75W56, 40N20, Lagna (Lahiri) at 19:09 Aries Abbreviations: "H" means house; "L" means lord. "Serious health problems have to be indicated in numerous ways or it's not a serious health problem." --H.P. Natal Analysis Aries Rising. Aries represents force, vigor and energy. It is the beginning of the sympathetic nervous system and represents the head taken as a whole. Externally Aries rules the head, face, nose, ears, eyes and mouth. Internally it rules the brain and nerve centers. Structurally Aries rules the cranium and facial bones. Aries diseases and afflictions tends to excesses, dryness, heat, fevers, inflammation, excess of forcefulness and energy. Sometimes injuries and accidents come into play. Sun, Mars, Mercury and Jupiter are all in Aries and subject to the conditions of Aries. Mars in Aries as lagna lord is in its own house. This is a strong and essentially positive position for Mars, and this lordship is often found in charts where there is a great deal of emphasis on the physical body for one reason or another. It is sometimes found in charts of body-builders, actors, athletes, politicians, entrepreneurs or people of independence and charisma. It can also indicate strong self-interest, physical happiness, good health and prowess when unafflicted by the 6th, 8th or 12th house lords. In Charles' chart the full benefits of this Mars 1H lordship were likely to be denied. Mercury as the difficult 6L of acute health conditions is closely aspecting Mars as 1L of the physical body within 4 degrees. Mercury itself represents the connective nerves, and Mercury in Aries the nerves in the head. (Saturn also represents the nervous system, and Saturn in the 11H aspects Mercury in the 1H of the head and brain area.) The 6L just by itself indicates such things as the control of the nerves and one's ability to deal with anxiety, worry and stress. Mercury as karaka of the nerves is also 6L of the nerves. This means Mercury is doing double-duty with regard to its connection to nerve function for Aries rising. Mercury as 6L of acute illness aspects Mars, and Mars represents motor ability and muscle function in general. There looks to be a problem here. So right off the bat this appears to be a chart where the health may need to be watched from the very beginning and managed throughout life, and because of Mercury's aspect to Mars and Saturn's aspect on both Mercury and Mars, Charles could experience some kind of a chronic health problem that would manifest sometime in life, if not before, then most likely when the seriousness of Saturn dasha kicked in in 1992. Adding significance to the health situation is that Mars is simultaneously 8L of chronic and difficult health problems and the 1L of the general physical health. This means that not only can Mercury cause problems to Mars but Mars can cause injuries to Mercury through possible accidents, fevers, muscles strain or over-exertion. The 6L of acute health conditions and 8L of chronic health conditions are battling each other with Charles caught in the middle. This aspect indicates great stress potential in life if the inner conflicts are not eventually resolved through some type of insight or life-style change, etc. (It might be significant too that, in addition to general muscle function, Mars in Aries can specifically represent the facial muscles. Mercury represents neurological conditions and Mercury in Aries is specifically said to e authorities. It would be interesting to find out if any of these areas were ever affected, even in a minor way, and may have caused something of a speech problem in early life. Rahu aspecting Venus in Gemini, the sign of communication, and Venus as 2L of speech, would indicate the same thing along similar lines, especially between the age of 11 through 13 when Ketu was transiting these planets in Aries. Still, I would not view this as a long-term health issue throughout life. I only mention it as a point of research.) Mercury as 6L can also represent intestinal function, the elimination, digestive problems, dietary habits, allergies, conflicts and stress. Mars can represent potential fevers, sharp pains, and inflammation of the nerves or potential "attacks" upon the nerves. Again, Mercury as 6L indicates problems with the nerves related to muscle function because of its close aspect to Mars. One planet impacts the other until something is done about it as a life-style change, such as making fewer physical demands... having more rest... dietary changes, and perhaps avoiding too much caffeine or stimulants that can cause adrenal stress, as the adrenals are also signified by Mars. Special note...anomaly. There was also a very unusual situation at the time of birth involving the aspect between Mercury and Mars that shows why retrograde planets are considered more powerful by some astrological pundits. These two vitally important health indicators remained in close conjunction until Mercury finally moved out of Aries on June 6th-- *thirty days later.* This is not typical. This may have been critical. Rather than Mercury doing its typical one or two day transit to another planet, Mercury as the troublesome 6L had extra time to damage and weaken the muscle functions of Mars or affect the neurology of the head in some way. This points to some health problems during the first month of birth from whatever was going on at the time, such as possible digestive problems, fevers, accidents or incidents at home. Jupiter in Aries represents the arteries and Jupiter in Aries specifically represents the arteries in the head and the potential blood flow to the head. There's a potential health problem indicated with Jupiter, because Mercury as the problem-causer of ill-health is not only in close aspect to Mars but is in close aspect to Jupiter. Jupiter primarily signifies the liver/gall bladder area, the body's ability to deal with fats and blood, and other elated matters such as potential allergies. The positive side is that Mars is well-placed in Aries and this helps Mars to withstand the impact of Mercury and sustain muscle function in the long-run if stress and strain is reduced. Mars, Jupiter and the Sun are well-placed in Aries and all planets are functional benefics for an Aries ascendant, and this helps these planets deal with the disruptive impact of Mercury and help stabilize the health later on. These planetary health aspects, nerve and muscle vulnerabilities would become more prominent under Saturn dasha. Saturn is the other primary significator of the nerves, especially in the area below the knee and down into the feet. Saturn as karaka of the 12H represents the feet, and even though Saturn is considered to be well-placed in Aquarius, Saturn aspects Jupiter, Mercury and Mars and Mercury's 6L problem-causing aspect to both planets. May of 1994 through December of 1995 showed Ketu's transit of the 1H of the head area and general health under Saturn dasha, the nerves. This would have been a time when some of the MS symptoms were likely to appear in some noticeable way, but there are other periods of time that could be examined as well as a lead-in to the official diagnosis of MS in 2003. This is a highly instructive chart from many standpoints for those interested in how the chart might reveal a tendency to certain more serious health problems and the recovery from making certain life-style changes beyond what standard medicine would view as possible and efficacious. I hope this little report will be of interest to readers and in no way is viewed as trivializing the suffering that MS can cause. I will try to look at some other MS charts when I have the time...they are very time consuming to do. Guest guest
Hi Charles, I'm offering this report in the spirit of research and hope it will be received this way by its readers. Maybe it will somehow be of use to you or be food for thought.
