You have raised a very interesting point. Long back, in a article in AM - Gayatri Devi covered the role of sun in 7th for marital ties. In her view, sun in 7th (of course read with other overriding factors) or relationship with 7th house lord etc, has most seperative effects.

 

Sun being karka of ego, has more of detachment blended with it..and this causes the marital difficulties.
