I am trying to figureout how to do predictions using Antar-pratyantar

dasha, so that we can predict what will happen or what has happened.

I am new to the subject, thus please provide details, if possible.

Anshul,

Mahadashas typically run for a pretty long time, so antardashas are

used to judge approximate timing. You should look at the lord of the

antardasha in these ways:

1. Placement of the planet whose antardasha you are running (good

house, bad house, good aspects, bad aspects etc).

2. Placement of the planet in relation to Mahadasha lord, i.e. is it

in good angles such as kendra or trine vs. 6, 8 or 12.

3. Transit of the planet who is your antardasha lord - is it in a

good house? Is it receiving benefic aspects? This is generally taken

from Moon sign, not lagna.

As you can see, there are many many factors of how to use

antardasha, but the basic idea is to look at what the antardasha of

the planet indicates - if the antardasha supports the event, then

prayantar dasha can be more specific in terms of dates etc.
