Guest guest
Whatever Jesus has spoken and taught...............on that basis its impossible to imagine that He was a non-vegetarian. Jesus stands tall among the pure Satva people. He preached, established, practiced and showed the highest degree of Satvik -Guna. And this is simply impossible in a person who consumes non-vegetarian food ! I think that in all societies ( even in hardcore non-veg ones) there have been people who have taken up vegetarianism. And Jesus is known to have spent time in India after baptism and till the age of about 30 when re-appeared in his homeland. In India, there are lot of ancient records of this. And many international scholars have done research & published books. Holger Kersten, the German scholar, is a good example. Among his many books on the subject, most notable is "Jesus Lived In India." Interested people should read it. The Indian tradtions & this book ( + many others) shows that Jesus also survived the crucifixion and came to live in India. And He lived till the age of 80. His tomb is is in Srinagar. In several Indian spiritual traditions Jesus is recognized as a Prophet of the Aryans, and a Brahmin by birth. This Brahmin thing is the uppermost Varna among the 4 Varnas. The enitre creation, including, all human societies, is divided into 4 varnas, whether any society recognizes it or not. These 4 varnas are 4 permutaions & combinations of the 3 gunas ( Satva, Rajas & Tamas). ( Its unfortunate that the true meaning of Brahmin etc. are lost today and corrupted notions are in vogue). Coming to Jesus, many greats of India, like Sri Ramkrishna Paramhans and my own guru Sri Sri Thakur Anukulchandra ji (1889-1969) recognized Jesus ( & Mohammad as well) as an Avatar, a Messiah. From my childhood I have worshipped Jesus & Mohammad alongwith Ram, Krishna, Buddha & other Prophets. This is the pure Vedic tradition. Jesus himself was a great exponent of the Vedas. Buddha Himself had predicted that a Messiah will appear about 500 years after His death to revive His teachings. Thats why I have written, in one of my previous posts, that Vedas and Vedic traditons have nothing to do with any sect or ism etc. Its the knowledge of the dynamics of Nature. All true Seers will find the same truth, whether an Aryan or Non-Aryan !! We have a great example of Lord Hanuman, who is one of the leading deities of the Aryans, even though he was a Non-Aryan ( being of Dravidian origin) !! If one of the finest example of Satva-guna--- Jesus---- was not a vegetarian- then I suppose entire Ayurveda is false and baseless and would have been dumped long ago. regards, Yashendra Caldecott <todd (AT) toddcaldecott (DOT) com> wrote: i was avoiding getting into this controversy but that article on swaveda.com is riddled with errors and one-sided arguments for e.g., the bulk of the evidence suggests that Pythagorus was not a vegetarian, and by the way, it should also be mentioned he was against legumes as a dietary article: http://plato.stanford.edu/entries/pythagoras/#PytWayLif also, the same article on swaveda.com suggests that Jesus was a vegetarian, which shows a fairly blatant ignorance of Jewish life, culture, and history
