Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Last night I finally saw An Inconvient Truth, & have been researching global warming trends on-line today. I used to feel that Amma's Green Friends weren't as important to a spiritual community as other sevas, but my mind has changed. I would encourage everyone to see this movie, or to at least seriously research the subject. The U.S. produces more CO2 than any other country, (over 30%), which is affecting life around the globe. If the trend of rising green house gases doesn't change, about 100 million people could be displaced. Even Amma said that Her ashram will one day be under water. It seems to be in-line with our spiritual path, as well asethical, to do what we can to alleviate this trend. Sweta Messenger with Voice. Make PC-to-Phone Calls to the US (and 30+ countries) for 2¢/min or less.
Guest guest
Namah Shivaya Sweta, Thank you for posting this. I remember about 10 years ago there were posters up at the MA center with a quote of Mother's saying that we have to take care of the environment before it's too late. This is a huge issue, on the spiritual plane and in the physical universe. Guest guest
Om Namah Shivaya, Stephen Hawking posted a question for , which was something like, "What can we do o save the human race?" There were 70,000 responses. He reportedly says we should have colonies on the moon in 10 years, & on Mars in 20 years, to help save our race. My sister just told me about a Nova program about the dimming sun. We've been cleaning up particualte pollution, while still emitting inordinate amounts of gases. A little known fact is that the particles have been keeping our atmosphere's temps lower. But, when these particles are successfully removed, combined with the increase in gases, Earth's temps will rise extremely fast. It's disturbing that so many animals & poor people, who've made little or no contribution to this problem, are already suffering from it. A new problem is that polar bears are drowning, since they need to swim longer distances, up to 60 miles, to find ice. In the end, it sounds as if spiritual practices that give us peace, & the realization that in all circumstances, we are the undisturbed Atman, are the answer. But, we should also be doing our part to help the situation. Sweta Prasadini <ganesh1008 (AT) comcast (DOT) net> wrote: Namah Shivaya Sweta, Thank you for posting this. Guest guest
Namah Shivaya, I recently read that abut Stephen Hawking. Scary. And so sad that others suffer because we pollute.
