Amma doll stories

I am so in love with my new Amma doll! I know that must sound crazy

but it's like She's ALIVE. I swear she was telling me to get up

earlier today to meditate. I could hear Her in my mind saying, "It's

time to meditate!" I always meditate every morning and evening, but

She knew I wanted to sleep later.

Last night, I read the stories about the Amma dolls and how a crown

popped off a doll's head because the doll maker didn't have a crown

that she thought would be fitting. She heard the doll telling her she

didn't like that crown. She said that the crown literally flew off the

doll's head. I found it interesting until I began to snuggle to go to

sleep with my own doll. As I hugged Her, I began to cry and then, THEN

I was getting darshan! It was unmistakable. Today my doll meditated

with me as well. I thought of taking Her with me to drive around town

but it's hot in the car. Then I thought, well, it's hot in India, too.

I have heard that each doll is made and that it actually creates its

own look. The makers of dolls said that sometimes they may try to

change a doll's look, but are unable to do so no matter how hard that

they might try. Each doll is made so that the devotee will be drawn to

that particular doll. It is like the doll is made and the devotee

shows up-kind of like the guru calling.

anyway, I just thought I'd share my doll story. I have been drawn to

wanting a doll for about a year and now that I have it, I love it!

Hi Adriane,

That's pretty cool about your doll! I can't wait to buy mine,

hopefully this Nov. I want two, one of in the white sari and of Devi.

I certainly would sleep with it every night having Amma next to my

heart!

Jai Amma!

Om Amrtesvaryai Namah!!

Namaskarams dear sisters!

you know stacy....you only need to get ONE doll...and then buy the

Devi bhava outfit for Her if you get the White Sari'd Amma...if you

get the Devi Bhava Amma, you can then get the white Sari outfit

separately...and then you can have fun changing her...whites for her

ordinary days...and Devi Bhava clothes for those special Devi bhava

Darshan days....

how do i know this....welll.....i got my Amma doll back in 1996, and

She was wearing whites....but later after a while i felt that i would

really like Her to have the option to wear Her Devi bhava clothes, so

i bought a set of Devi bhava clothes a year or so later...and She

looks Divine in either set of clothes....She's almost as huggable as

Our Mother in the flesh...She was my comfort and joy for years

together...used to take her to bed with me (i was a bachelor at the

time) cause i needed a lot of love and support and just like you i

felt that She is alive, not just any ordinary doll...when you hug Her,

you feel in a way like Amma is hugging you!!

She helped me so much to heal and grow to be more soft and loving...

i also used to go around the retreats at Seattle with Her in my arms

all the time...handing Her over to Amma when i got darshan...Amma

would put chandanam (sandalwood paste) on Amma doll's forehead and

then the rest of what was on Her finger, She would put on my

forehead...she used to play a little with Her, and make it clear that

it was ok for me to be attached to Her like that...at first all the

people used to look at me like i was some kind of weirdo, but after a

while i noticed that LOTS of folks had their OWN Amma dolls and were

not afraid to carry Her around with them...some even had special Amma

doll carriers, like the snugglies that parents have for newborns...it

was great to see.....

then more recently i got the distinct impression from Amma that it was

time to move on from that particular lila with Her...and i would leave

Amma doll in the hotel room when at the retreats...of course then all

the folks who used to know me as the Amma doll guy would ask me Where

She went to..

anyways...i believe i have already told this story more or less...and

will close for now with apologies to anyone who had already read it

and are now bored with me....SORRY>>>but the ladies stories were just

so strongly reminding me of my own experiences...

Amma doll now sits on Her own throne in our bedroom, overseeing

everything, and emanating Amma's Love...unfortunately, She is a little

worn now, from all the hugs...but She is still loveable and

sweet...incidentally, Keval, i AM considering to bring Her to Toronto

this summer, to meet YOUR AMMA Doll...so they can have a good

chat...tell each other all about us!

in Amma's Divine Love,

and in Her Service,

as ever,

your own Self,

It was wonderful to hear your story again! Makes it more wonderful now

that i have my own AMMA doll and can better relate!

And i love this idea of one AMMA doll visiting with another one--how fun!
