Hi all,

I am relocating to SFO Bay Area, California in a week(from Hyderabad,

India). I was wondering if somebody can help me with the following:

a). When seeing for auspicious time should we look at the day/time of

starting from Hyderabad or time of joining in the job in US?

b). When looking at the Calendar(thithi/vaara/nakshatra etc.,.) in US should

we adjust the timings to Indian times or should we just look at it as-is in

US (ex.if Friday afternoon in India is Dwadashi can we take Friday afternoon

in US also as Dwadashi as we are in that time zone or adjust the timings)

Please help me with the above. I need to book tickets Thursday(13th July)

morning India Time. Thanks in advance,

Regads,

Mahesh

Sh. Jnanarthi J,

My intention of giving the following script is not to discourage or to throw

mud on the belief. Auspicious or inauspicious are relative terms, these are

followed to inculcate discipline and orderliness to the mind. When it is

achieved one should stop observing it. Just for example Amavasya (The black

Moon day) is inauspicious for Andhrites where as it is auspicious to

Tamilians. Sun never rises nor sets, it is relative with respect to the

place or location on the globe.

What is required is complete belief or surrender to the Almighty, which

brings peace and endless joy. By observing Good or Bad days one is not

imposing full faith and and is incomplete belief. Please do not mistake me,

it is left for one to think loud.

Series of stories one hears, reads about faith or belief and one is

thoroughly convinced but ones mind plays a trick of spreading Maya and

drifts one to the routine. At the same time it is important to note that as

long as one is convinced that observing Muhurats brings happiness should not

stop, as the method or a mode one follow should give happiness.

Reply to your query is that one shall select an auspicious Muhurat at the

time of starting an activity. One need not select auspicious Muhurats for

every susequent activity that follow. The first activity of Joining or

reporting for a new assignment is "Journey" . So you shall select auspicious

muhurat for the journey from your place of stay. All other activities are

considered as subsequent, immaterial of its importance ie may be more

significant or even a milestone.
