Hindu atheism?

Do all other (non Vaishnava) sects of Hinduism claim that God's personal form (as Shiva, Shakti, Surya, Ganesh or Skanda) is only a Mayic illusion, which veils 'His' formless reality as the impersonal Brahman?

Are they therefore atheistic?

Ur right,Hinduism is science,like how Astrology is,its close to the truth but not the truth itself because there is no 100% guarantee or proof like in astrology,u cant rule out astrology just because it doesnt work all the time,it does work,same way the concepts of Hinduism is true,that what goes around comes around etc,that we all will have to pay for our actions,same way the epics mightve certainly happened,like Ramayana or Mahabaratha but its all exagarated as to the divine weapons,astras etc and god fought with one side etc,because in the end they all died,god isnt supposed to die isnt it?

If u scrutinse closely ul realise its all stories,like Spiderman or Superman,but there mustve certainly been someone like Arjuna etc but they mightve been like u and me and mustve won the battle but not with weapons that produce rain or fire or chariots that fly etc,its like saying the actors performance in the movie set the theatre alight,doesnt mean the theater was set in fire,same way these were personifications.

But later on people wanted to glorify these characters according to their school of thought so they come up with stories like so and so is still alive for 10000 yrs etc,my uncle saw him or my aunt saw him but i didnt see him,u have to take it with a grain of salt.

Its like saying Jesus arised from dead,did he really arised,ofcourse not,how can man whos dead come back?

Its like saying Lord Shiva has a third eye and will burn the world,has anyone seen a man with 3 eyes are so huge,but they will say u gotta do penance for 1000 yrs to see him etc..thats because they know u cant do it.

So keep up the faith that there exist a god but dont go for fantasies from any religion,all religions r illusionary stories to have morals in life,but when people starting to degrade others like how Iskcon claims other gods r demigods or like how Muslims say there is no other god than allah thats when the problem starts,u should just use ur common sense and lead life peacefully.

Dont expect to be in Heaven with all comforts just cause u believe in Krsna or Allah or any god,after u die u r burnt and thats it.

But you have to understand what you said would not go down well with all Hindus especially those who take the puranas literally or follow family traditions that encourage superstition.

I understand what you mean and even some notable Hindu leaders such as Swami Vivekananda had the same view. They emphasised the spiritual teachings and God realisation, rather than the mythology. But you have to understand what you said would not go down well with all Hindus especially those who take the puranas literally or follow family traditions that encourage superstition.

I know it,im not the most popular person here at all,they call me aethist and even delete some of my postings,because people think if they constantly support these idols and glorify them they will be blessed and they feel people like us dont know anything,truth is they r so weak in their beliefs and their theories r shaky that they cant tolerate truth.Truth Hurts big time.They wanna live in fantasy,they think constant chanting of so and so mantra is gonna make them fly in the sky or shoot arrows that kill 100s of people or go watch Ramba or Menaka dance for them or get Mukthi(which they cant even explain what it would feel like).

Truth is these were mere stories,like say for instance u and me exist today,if we do a heroic deed that people might remember then they might exagarate and say so and so was born with so and so power and purpose,blah blah blah.

For instance look at the thread here that claims Aswathama is still alive after what 10000 yrs or so and people believe it,can u believe how far they go.
