Dear Mr.

I read ur comment : "i believe we should support the ayurveda of the acharyas and not bend

it to our religious philosophy this is why ayurveda is open to all: hindu, christian, muslim, buddhist etc."

Actually, in Vedic civilization ( including the contemporary term "Hinduism") the concept of " Religion" DOES NOT EXIST.

The term is "Dharma''. From root 'Dhri' of Sanskrit, meaning that which upholds. Its definition: "Dharma is that which upholds the life ( existence, being) and growth ( becoming) of all."

The original (in ancient times) people of this civilization explored & studied the dynamics of nature & man's place in it. On the basis of their discoveries they formulated principles of all-round life & growth for ALL HUMAN BEINGS. These scientific rules were implemented and took shape of traditions, customs, rites & rituals. These are for all HUMAN BEINGS. There is nothing like sects, isms, faiths, religions etc. here.

And, in this Dharma, life is seen as ONE WHOLE. All knowledges are combined into ONE. Ayurveda, economics, sociology, politics, chemistry, botany, music, astrology, astronomy, geography, aesthetics etc. all are integrated. Life is ONE, not in parts. No subject can be separated from another.

Thus, this Dharma is for all, inclusive of Ayurveda. One cannot delink one part from another. Its not possible.

And there is asolutely NOTHING Hindu about it. Its a science for all human beings, not a collection of dogmas & beliefs of some sect or ism !!!

All sages & Prophets of India have spoken the same. Buddha being no exception.

And, frankly speaking, Jesus & Mohammad were no different. The expressions may differ as per time & place, but the facts remain the same. Universal in nature.

........ U have used the term "Religious Philosophy". Philosophy, again, is a term alien to Indian thought. The Vedic Seers have never believed in philosophy. Only in practical hardcore science. They call it " Darshan" ( Realisation). It means the realized truth. In fullness & completeness. I will try to give an example.

Lets take atomic physics. No modern scientist has ever seen an "atom", forget sub-atomic particles. They

rely on the results of experiements. So, they obtain knowledge about the behaviour of atoms. But how does it look like ? The colour ? No answer.

These 'modern scientists' will not be allowed to enter into any scientific conference of Vedic Seers !! Becoz they have incomplete knowledge & indirect one. Whereas the Vedic Seer, using his own consciousness (Self) enters into the atom, becomes one, sees it all aspects, feels it, analyses and then speaks about it !! Not otherwise.

This can be be done by the 8-fold Yoga technology. By acquiring 'anima' power (siddhi) one can enter into the smallest of particles/things of the world & do whatever one likes with them. Its not trial & error or hypotheses !! Its exact hard fact !!!

Using this very technology, Leadbeater & Annie Besant published a book on atomic & sub-atomic particles, years before Rutherford discovered that atom can be broken ( the gold-leaf experiment). Later researches have shown that Leadbeater & Besant's book describes all that modern quantum physics has discovered till date & still to discover. And in much greater detail. These two saw "atoms" & spent time with them !! This is "Darshan".... NOT philospohy.

Similar technology had given origin to Ayurveda which is part of ONE, single & un-divisible, VEDIC DHARMA.

No trial & error. No hypotheses. No philosophy.

Thats why its said that it was Brahma who was the first preacher ( not creator, as Ayurveda or the Vedic Dharma is inherent in creation) of Ayurveda. Brahma is our own consciousness, albeit in a supremely awakened stage.

Even today, anybody can communicate with Brahma & obtain any knowledge, including Ayurveda.

I hope have been clear.

regards,

Yashendra

this is another interesting point - it has been stated that the

buddhist ethic of ahimsa adopted by ashoka detrimentally affected the

practice of ayurveda, and led to a decline of the practice of surgery

such now that this practice is almost totally lost

my concern is that by adopting a strictly vegetarian ethic to the

practice of ayurveda, this loss of knowledge would continue

i believe we should support the ayurveda of the acharyas and not bend

it to our religious philosophy

this is why ayurveda is open to all: hindu, christian, muslim,

buddhist etc.
