Guest guest
Dear Brothers & Sisters, Sairam, After reading so much on this site through the mails I am tempted to write one amongst the many of ny experiences with our beloved Bhagawan. I am 38 years of age now & started Smoking at the age of 17.I used to Smoke heavily but as I was a good Sportsman I never felt the lack of stamina or anything of sorts, though I knew that the cigarettes would definitely be causing damage to my lungs & general health. My father himself used to smoke & lost this habit when he visited Parthy for the first time in early seventies.I always used to ask him,how he had given up & everytime he replied that it was some divine intervention & I used to ask myself-What this divine intervention is like? The day came. I was in Parthy for the Shivarathri celebrations in the year 1999.The Shivarathri was on 14th February & while getting ready for the morning Darshan I smoked. It was around 2.30am.After having the bath I decided to do fasting till next morning & also decided not to smoke during the fast. The day started with Lord Shiva's Darshan, came evening-Bhajans started & continued till next morning. At around 05.45 hrs Swami came for the Darshan.Everyone in the Kulwant hall was sitting & was listening to Swami's discourse. Before this year Swami had not done Lingodhbhava in public for many years, hence the expectations were not there amongst the gathering & people were sitting quietly.Suddenly after some time everyone witnessed "Lingodhbhava".As all were seated,I got the best of view of the Lingodhbhava. At this very moment I prayed to the Lord to forgive my sins & take away my bad habits. That was all. From that moment onwards I never felt the urge to Smoke. It has been more than 7 years, since I last smoked. I understood what "Divine intervention is all about".It was precisely this act of Lord or else on my own will I would not have ever been able to give up Smoking.I smoked for almost 14 years. I last Smoked on 14th February-1999,at 0230 hrs. Sairam Naveen --- This e-Mail may contain proprietary and confidential information and is sent for the intended recipient(s) only.
