Barbara, beads contain seeds inside, in segments/compartments, like

an apartment with 5 rooms if we are looking at a 5 mukhi for

example. Hence viability is not destroyed or drastically affected.

The pulp sticks to the beads, not the seeds within. If its natural

oil you were using, there shouldn't be much interference. i guess as

a rule of thumb, newer beads might be better of course and these can

be obtained from Rudra Centre. I don't know about the preperation

process but believe in theh principles of Mother Nature which works

in mysterious ways.

Rudraksha embodies Shiva Himself and he is synonymous with Shakti.

This being Kali Yuga with disruptions, changes, etc. through His

cosmic dance, and Hers, Shiva's Tears (rudraksha) flow for mankind's

salvation regardless whether its His dance or Her dance, surely they

work together somehow on a subtle level hardly understoond by

mankind, but which bring about miracles when we least expect it.

Mother Nature (you can say Maa Kali presides over this in this Yuga)

works in Her Own Good Time. Like mentioned before, if its meant to

be, the seeds will sprout. If not meant to be, then just surrender

and let it be God/dess' will.

How many times we prepare for something in life and it never

happens? How many times we prepared for something not expecting it

to take place but it comes to pass? I'm merely going along with this

principle, whatever law it is, though not Murphy's Law.. but yet it

is Murphy's Law, come to think of it in another perspective.

lessened during the processes of removing the original pulpy shell

and in the drilling of the hole. My old beads will not work, I think,

as I soak them in oil from time to time and the oil goes into the

hole. Perhaps newer beads will work. Also, I thought that there was a

process of preparing the beads in some way before planting them.
