Overcoming the fear of failure

We have to know what failure is and what failure can do. Fear is

bound to go when we know that failure is not something shameful,

damaging, destructive or painful. Feel that failure is something

natural. When a child starts to walk, he often stumbles and falls

down. But he does not feel that stumbling is a failure. He thinks

that it is a natural process to stand up for a moment and then fall

again.

If we think of failure in that light, not as something that is

against or totally distant from reality but as something that is

forming, shaping, molding and becoming reality, then there cannot be

any fear. We take failure as something contrary to our expectation

and our realization of Baba. But failure is not contrary to our

realization. Failure is something that is urging us towards our

realization. What we call failure, in Baba's Eye, is only an

experience.

Always take failure as an experience. Do not take it as a finished

product or as the culmination of an experience, but rather as the

process of an experience. If we think that failure is the end of our

experience, then we are mistaken. In a long race, one may start very

slowly, but then gradually he increases his speed and eventually he

reaches his goal. If he thinks that since his start was slow, he will

not be able to reach the destination, then he is making a deplorable

mistake. If there is no failure, naturally we will run the fastest.

But if there is failure, take it as an experience that is just

beginning. The end will be success. And then who can say that we have

failed?

Baba Said....

"Who so ever devoutly offers to me a leaf, a flower, or fruit or

water, of that pure hearted man, I accept that pious offering".

Shri Sai does not make things difficult for anyone. We at times,

suffer the result of our past actions. Please pray to Him sincerely.

He only helps, faith without patience is not consistent.

Human beings will always have problems in one aspect of life or the

other, whether they are big or small, whether they are evil or pure.

All such sufferings are correlated to earlier life's action plus this

life's. It is better to remember God more in happier times than in

sorrow, as Saint Kabir said.

For those who want to come closer to Baba the only way is, to keep

unshakable faith in Him under all circumstances. But, some people

come to Sadguru with the desire of worldly gains or exhibit their

devotion with such expectations in their heart. Sometimes, when their

desires are not fulfilled or when they have to suffer consequences of

their own past actions they tend to lose their faith. In the time of

any Avtar or Sadguru every wish of every man was never fulfilled.

Sadguru never fulfills those desires, which would become barrier in

bringing them closer to God. There is His hand behind unfulfillment

of such desires. Therefore, one who can see Baba both, in pleasure

and pain, is the true devotee. The pleasure seekers are bound to

deviate from the path.

Baba is every where just feel him and keep on saying `Om Sai Ram' to

whom so ever you meet.

OM SAI SRI SAI JAI JAI SAI!!! Let us pray at the lotus feet of

Bhagwan Baba who is the incarnation of all gods and protector of all,

to show mercy on us, and increase our devotion towards him

Jai Sai Ram

SAI RAM Dear Brothers and Sisters

Swamy says,"There is no such thing as failure in the Universe. No life will be a failure." Fear of failure comes in our minds when there is attachment to our actions and when we start entertaing expectation of favourable results of our actions in mind. The only way to overcome the fear of failure is to cultivate Vairagya or non-attachment to our actions." Only through non-attachment and renunciation can one overcome fear of failure" the Upanishads and Bagawad Geetha point out. One should understnd clearly that we have no say on the result of our actions. Our duty is only to perform actions. "Perform actions ,but dedicate them to Me",says Lord Krishna in the Geetha. We have no control on the Karmaphala or the results of actions. This being the case, why should we entertain fears about results of our actions. Let us think with a calm mind.

With Loving Sai Rams,

G.Balasubramanian
