Guest guest
Om Namh Shivaya!. Respected Gurujans and learned scholars, I have been following actively the thread on the karma concept. I had one fundamental doubt or question as you may call it for which i could find an answer yet. Since we are born and take rebirth over and over again, "why is it that we cannot remember our karmas ( Dushkarma or SatKarma ) of our earlier lives. Remembering this would help us in atleast "knowingly" avoid certain Karmic centred activities. This memory will also help the being to do better and strive hard since the data is available ( memory of karmas) and the being will be in a better position to judge what is best and what next he/she could do. I understand that with this memory an additional baggage of previous lives relationships and responsibilities come in. But again to hold on to these relationships and responsibilities is up to the individual. If compared these additional baggages against the Karma's which is being done in each lives, I guess the benefits of knowing ( memory) our Karma outweighs this additional baggage. Thanks in advance for your replies.. With Regards /-Akash...
Guest guest
Akash, I understand and agree with your view. I have brought this up with one of my spiritual guides who is scholarly and saintly both. What her explanation was: God wants us to believe in him and love him by volition only and not from fear, from wanting to neutralize past karma, not to gain great fortune or any other intention. When we understand and see everything as God's kind plan to reduce our punishment for our karmas had been so horriblr. Now does that explanation make me happy, I dont know, but it feels plausible. May all your troubles be gone, Hare Krishna, Abha bhataash <bhat_ashok > wrote: Om Namh Shivaya!. Guest guest
Dear Aakash "why is it that we cannot remember our karmas ( Dushkarma or SatKarma ) of our earlier lives. This memory will also help the being to do better and strive hard since the data is available ( memory of karmas) and the being will be in a better position to judge what is best and what next he/she could do. Ans: Accept God nothing & nobody is perfect on this earth. But God has given us a better way of reminding things. The placement of all the planets at the time of our birth indicates all our past karmas. Based on what we have done in our past birth, we continue our life. One thing we must not forget is that in our any of our past births we have done some good karmas, which has pleased the Lordship's and have been fortunate enough to get the human form of life. Else we should have wandered in any of the 84 lakh of the living entities(Unani's). At every point of time Lord always comes to our rescue in the form of intuition, but we seldom pay any heed to the same due to condition state & material contamination. Lord Krishna in the Bhagwat Geeta says that if remember Him at the time of death we will go back to GodHead and never return back. That is how we can get liberated & freed form the contnious cycle of birth & death. Harry bhataash <bhat_ashok > wrote: Om Namh Shivaya!. Guest guest
JAYA JAGANNATHA! Dear Jyotisha, Namaste. Sri Krishna says in the Bhagavad-gita that knowledge, remembrance and forgetfulness all come from Him. But He directs our minds according to our desires. So usually we desire to forget our acts because we think that in this way we will not be responsible for them. Therefore he makes us forget them. But if one desires to remember, Krishna will give him the intelligence to understand what mistakes he committed in the past. One way of this is to read the chart of the native. I recently visited a Bhrigu reader in karoi village in Bilwara district of Rajasthan. His name is Pandit Nathulal. He read out my chapter on Bhrigu Samhita and told me that I was born in a kshatriya family in my previous life. Thsi made some sense seeing my Leo Lagna, and Mar Atmakaraka in this life. Also you coulsd check the D-60 chart which may reveal some aspects of the native's previous life. Guest guest
|| Om Gurave Namah || Dear Bhataash, There will be few criminals who will accept that they have done the crime and face the cops. Similarly the psychology of most people (exept saints) is to hide from the crime, hence the ignorance. Continuing on the criminal example, every criminal thinks, after his crime, he/she would want to go to a new place and become a new person and no one will know him. This is ignorance imposed by one's own self. Guest guest
Good evening! One of the main in the process of remembering is cleanness of your soul. When you have some kind of outer desires and ties in your energetic centers, then even if you could accept the thruth, you will say that it is lie, or dream, etc. And later you will forget about this. Every person have double nature and could define his world acc. to some view, which may be outer or inner. The inner view is more correct, but in our life we always take the outer view, which may be the views of your surrounding people or your outer feelings. Guest guest
Om Namh Shivaya! Thanks a lot for your educative answers - Hareshji, Sanjayji, Gauranga Dasji and Abha. As Gauranga Dasji had suggested by viewing and reading the D60 we can come to know of our past live's sins/pious acts. But again this knowledge is again at the disposal of learned ones or astrologers not to the person himself.( a common person ). Also you have mentioned that Sri.Krishna can give us the rememberance, forgetfulness etc.. But are you again saying that it is through devotion? And Abha, that is a wonderful explanation you have given. But pls excuse me, I would call it as devotion - total devotion without the reasoning to understand what is best or what should we be doing in this life so that our path to merging to the omnipresent is atleast in the right direction?. I was discussing the same topic with one of my learned friends. He mentioned to me that when the soul has departed the physical body and is on its way out, the soul has the memory of all the past live's sins/pious deeds and what it could have done with the just left life to improve upon it. But that would be a tad late because there is no body anymore to improve or add upon it. That is where I was interested in knowing as to why God has made us to forget our past lives. I can see some reason as to the future being hidden but the past.. why?.. Still lookin.. Thanks again. Guest guest
Dear Akash, Can I say few words? I sometimes think with my little brain, that knowing your past karmas, would be better in that you current sufferings would feel in proportion, or that you wont engage in similar karmas again and thus atleast stay away from the same kind of bad or not so good karma. Also as an ardent student of physics and chemistry as many science loving people get, we start wanting to know reasons due to that side of our mind too. But we got to recognize how limited our senses together with the tools of enhancing our natural senses are, i am alluding to our 5 or 6 and the telescopes, microscopes, MRI, and all the detective kind of gadgets on our planets. Even with that we are very miniscule in understanding the working of gross physicaly fathomable behaviour of matter and time as it applies to our galaxy alone. Our thinking and intellectual efforts are intwined with our sense and being one with time frames which itself can very myriadly present or absent beyond our little reality. The reason absolute devotion and love for God and to God comes naturally is based on a few things. As I was saying you, gather all the neurons and research modalities in the world and one can barely begin fathom his power and forms. Have to put your faith in his word, if not out of devotion then may be out of absence of any other logic... On a more tangible note, what is the most ardent need of all human beings after they get money, education, knowledge, marrigqe, kids, social status, physical relations, what have you? We still all have the need to feel love, which, only comes from either being worthy of it, or by giving it to the right person or cause unconditionaly. How can you explain this? Although we have material bodies, needs of sustainance and thriving which are also materialy based, why this very subtle but very real omnipresent need? Therefore I think as much as we would love to see our karma and thus feel and understand better on some levels, may be even feel less frustrated with life events as sometimes the painful events and life keeps happening to the really genuine, honest, kind and loving people at the same time you can see the manipulative, disrespectful, selfish and wicked getting pleasnat life events consistanly, one may choose to persue past karma finding with an astrologer or adopt God's suggestion that leads to liberation from it. On Jyotish level, I read in a respectable book that planets give and predict mind impulses and behaviours and that if one, for ex, a street smart, selfish and a blood sucking kind of person starts to act gently and kindly he feels sad and unhappy. So go with your nature as much as you can with causing as little hurt as you can? I am no one to imply that the book's observation is universaly correct, but it has some point. So here are some open ended thoughts.... Should we take everthing good and bad as God's plan and may be give a thought to what he says frequetly in Geeta, ie to follow his advice on behaviour, thoughts, karma, most humbly and lovingly surrender all actions of mind, body and spirit to him and that he says is the way to liberation from all karma as he is doing it not you or me my friend..... Life has its real pains, rarely joys, mind had its quests and doubts, heart has its needs, we do have the limited free will to put our energy in matter of our choice. Our energy follows intention, so may be we could set a desired intention......... I understand how you feel about the law and execution of karma....I have hurt and suffered a lot on all fronts of life .... Hope I did not come across as preachy..... respect and regards Abha. bhataash <bhat_ashok > wrote: Om Namh Shivaya! Technically any knowledge can be gained by one of two ways: through an external source (a guru or teacher) or through the internal source (the Paramatma or Supersoul). To whom will Krishna reveal a certain piecem of knowledge? The first answerr is of course, to whom He desires, so it does not necessarily depend on the devotion or sincerity. But the second answer is that He will reveal it to one who deserves it and who benefits from it. So from our part we can prepare ourselves to accept knolwedge by becoming more sincere and humble through devotion to God. > And Abha, that is a wonderful explanation you have given. But pls > excuse me, I would call it as devotion - total devotion without the > reasoning to understand what is best or what should we be doing in > this life so that our path to merging to the omnipresent is atleast > in the right direction?. My understanding is that we should understand what Krishna wants from us and what is His plan for us. This is because we are persons and Krishna is also a person and we have a personal relationship with Him. Due to our illusion we dont understand who we are and what is our relatioship woth Him but He understands us and guides us accordingly. > I was discussing the same topic with one of my learned friends. Because we dont want. So we forget because we dont want to be responsible and do the needful to rectify our mistakes. So at the time of death God shows us that our fate is in His hands and also gives an indication of what could have been done. I have a friend in England who is very good in regression therapy. He has helped many people to change their course in life by bringing up their past life memories. The method may be disputed or not, but he definitely helped a lot of people. An astrologer is meant to do the same.
