Pachkada Relationship and Usage

Dear members and Vistiji,

Namaskar,

I have listhen to all the audio of yours on Jyotish which has really increased my knowledge and concepts about Jyotish. Thanks for this audios and SJC contribution.

 

When i was going through Sarwarth Chintamani commentary by Prof. Bangalore Suryanarain Row, His approach is slighter differ to SJC approach on the same slokes.

 

He says that calculate the Packaka,Bodhaka,Karaka,Vedhaka planets i.e. saturn in 6th from sun is pachaka,mars 7th from sun is Bodhaka, Jupiter 9th from Sun is karaka and Venus 11th from sun is Vedhaka. similary from other planets.

 

Now futher he says that Pachaka planet is enemy to Sun and Moon rest three friends

Vedhaka planet is enemy to mars rest friends

Bhodak planet is enemy to Mercury rest friends.

Pachaka and Vedhaka planet are enemy to Jupiter.

Karaka and Vedhaka planet are enemy to Venus rest friends.

Karaka is enemy to Sani and rest friends.

Whereas SJC says that:

To the Sun: Saturn,Mars,Jupiter,Venus are natural Pachaka,Bodhaka,Karaka and Vedhaka respectively.

 

and To the Sun: The houses (and planets contain therein) 6th,7th,9th,11th are temperory Pachaka,Bodhaka,Karaka and Vedhaka.

Similarly for other planets.

 

It is also said that this pachkada sambandh is used in VRY and Dasa/Antar dasa.

 

Please clarify the doubt on above difference and provide some pointers for the usage of this relation especially in VRY.
