Guest guest
SNARKY Romi - I see why I like that word so much. I used to use sarcasm and wit to mask my pain and fear, I was very sarcastic and witty at one tiem. Amma's love has toned down that tendency of mine, however I am still a huge fan of wit. Aha, that is why is so resonated with me. I may be wearing a hat with that word on it in Chicago and Iowa - It would be a good way for you guys to find me...a pink hat (to honor the feminine in me) with snarky on it, that sounds like a plan...YAY Response to Ananthasree's Poem: Well, it was very interesting, because the morning that I found this poem I had been thinking about what my life is to become and what I want in it and what I don't want in it. The train of thought was that "can I really exist in such a beautiful peaceful holy place amidst this world that teems with violence and hatred and drama and chaos, what about the ugly reality of the garbage of 6 billion people that get generated every day, what about the "basement" the dark side, the trash and the murder and the abuse" I was thinking about how is it pretending to only see beauty and create beauty and ignore the dark sides of things? This poem captures that dichotomy, that stark contrast of looking into the eyes of God or looking at the darkness, choosing to focus on light and let God take care of the darkness, choosing to shine and not get stuck in the mud of this flesh. This is a poem about faith and longing. What I like is that it captures the stark contrast of what we can choose to live in each moment. This also is very much about the essence we bring to this life. That which is timeless and eternal in each of us. How simple the essence is, how even and consistent our essence is with eternal wisdom, this poem speaks about honoring our essence and choosing the light. Dying to the worldy desires and choosing the simple eternal way is illustrated very clearly in these words. The agony of death and the joy of freedom all sing through these words. I hear that alone we are nothing, with God we are all about the glory. Om Namashivaya - In Amma's service, Supriti Omenka Nnadi
